no top country plays with minnows on regular tours as boards want to make money.. and then minnows are pulled up at the wc for one sided matches...
how can they improve in wc if they dont have regular tours with big nations..
cricket is most stagnant and regressive in development of new teams and countries
afte 100 years also we have same few teams

The top 8 should go through but teams like Ireland should be given a chance in a qualifying tournament where they can knock Bangladesh or Zimbabwe out.

IF Cricket is to Rival with Football
by prajyoth pradeep on Jun 16, 2011 11:54 AM

If Cricket has to rival with football then the top sides have to play against new and upcoming nations. Only then these new countries will get the experience and grow. Only if they are exposed to more and more international competition only then new countries will benefit and cricket will grow to be the most popular game in the world. BCCI should play a major part in this and use their large wealth to promote cricket in new territories. India has to take the game forward. This Hayden is talking like a kid.

ICC can try associates nations in T-20 WC since in T-20 format level gap between teams is not bigger. In ODI to make the cricket biggest event world cup interesting and competitive, it's necessary to cut down the minnows.
