If BCCI recommends, then WICB accepts...or else Mallya can do this.

But BCCI will not interfere on others issue and why will Mallya..
He knows Gayle is always available for his RCB side...

May follow Symonds route by playing only T20 domestic cricket.

Someone here writing that he has to play for another country..hes a citizen of Jamaica, how can he play for Aus/NZ/Eng?

KP is a resident of Eng though he is SA born..so he can play. People just comment anything, as if they know evrything..but infact they dont know.

He can shift to Bangladesh, ZIM or even Pakistan to play their team.. No other sides will show their interest in him, as because he is a good player only for T20 and not for Test or even onedayer...

Delhi City,

Is he shifting houses ? Do you even know the list of things one should do and have to get citizenship in another country ?

On what basis, will he be able to play in Zim or Bangladesh ?
You mean to say that the country will bend its immigration rules just so that a 32 year old player can play for the team for maybe 2-3 years ?

Board is correct
by Kannan Palaniswamy on Jun 16, 2011 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

My Personal opinion:

No individual is above the organization.
How can he demand USD 800,000 for not participating IPL? If you do not want to play for one organization, you have leave from that. That is it.

After 6 weeks of IPL, will he sit idle?

What if Board withdraws No Objection certificate?

It is my personal opinion
Kannan

What I mean from "If you do not want to play for one organization" is, If he do not like West Indies Contract, leave it...play only in IPL..Why he is trying WI again now?

First of all - West Indies is not a country, they are a bunch of countries. Secondly, the monopoly over cricket by boards let them ruin talented folks career needlessly.

The right thing to do is to provide balance. i.e. International Exposure in liu of share of earnings both ways. Which will mean, if Gayle earns good money from IPL, he should be contract bound to pay WICB a portion of it, and when WICB earns good money from an event a portion is shared with cricketer.

In this method, both of them will have vested interest in making both cricket and cricketer gain.

In current model, the boards have vested interest in controlling cricketers and undermining their professional earnings to benefit the boards.
