They are trying to defy India and put pressure from now itself. I think they are suffering from some complex. I am sure some English cricketrs will drop out giving lame excuses.
A.Strauss, A.Cook, J.Trott, K.Pietersen, G.Swann and S.Broad are key players. This time India is going to face best batting side of England. But the another aspect is current bowling combination of England doesn't look as strong as it was sometime back. Like Hoggard, Harmison, Anderson, Flintoff. They are heavily dependent on S.Broad and G.Swann. Because opposition is India so G.Swann will not be as dangerous. They can't take 20 wickets of India with just 1 dangerous bowler G.Swann.

england got a good combination of technique and strength..youth and experience..but Indians are prepared this time.only problem is with pace bowlers, too many injuries to the present bowlers and no new bowlers..

I have a different view.
Pietersen is struggling. Strauss is basically a mediocre batsman and captain and in any case currently woefully out of form by his own standards. Do not tell me about his big scores earlier against India. They are a flash in the pan. Their only batting hopes now revolve around three - A Cook, J Trott and Ian Bell.
However, they seem to have two genuine seam bowlers in Tremlett and Finn who may pose a few problems to Indian batting. Broad and Anderson need not be feared. Swann is a much better bowler than our Bhajji.
But if our batsmen apply themselves, they should be able to handle Swann well.

India has got into a habit of loosing the first test. Bad habit indeed.
