It is not beacuse of sambhar or rasmam.
But it is beacuse of chole bature bolwer like Praveen Kumar (120 kmph),Ishant sharma (most useless etc.
In past chicken singh bowler like
RP singh, Nehra, chetan sharma, goginder sharma etc even more useless.
Except kapil dev all good fast bowlers from south only- Like srinath, sreshant etc

Absolutely. Mithun, Munaf, Vinay are super slow and you need real pacers in Jamaica to win the match. We have fast bowlers like Unadkat, Sreenath Aravind, Varun Aaron who are faster than the above bowlers. However, Srikkanth wants only sambar. What to do

Bad selection for last match.
by D S on Jun 17, 2011 07:56 AM  | Hide replies

We mentioned, selection should include Harbhajan (3 specialist spinners) or pragyan and there was no need to play Parthiv Patel, could have tried Saha.

Raina was playing in hurry, he showed no patience mostly because burden of captaincy and videsh coach or pat from someone senior did not calm him and guide him. Kohli was all set, yet he was in hurry to take second run when he did not complete the first run in hurry i.e had stopped before second run. When there is chance for second run, it is alway easy to take 5 steps for second run and come back to the crease. this is what indian batsmen should discuss. But it is not possible to come back if player takes 20 steps.

Rohit played well, but Rohit flashed flat bat in hurry. All he had to do was to time his hit well for the slower ball but he was more concerned about bowler not falling for him moving his leg. Rohit needs to practice the flat bat more on spin-etc to correct his timing because flat bat like baseball needs perfect time. The baseball players even hit 100 mile-hour ball with flat bat due to proper timing.

Tiwari showed bravery, yet he poked on the ball he could have hit either with flat horizontal bat (if timing was there) or should have left it or with vertical bat if he moved his feet to get behind the ball.

In all, India could have won the match if they got 3rd specialist spinner as we had asked
the selector. MISHRA WAS OVER EXPOSED and ashwin was not at his lethal best. pragyan ojha should be given chance a

Why do you want to drop Laxman from Test team ??
India has played only 1 test in 2011 but in 2010 Laxman scored 937 at average of 67.07 His average is higher than Sehwag and Dhoni more than twice that of Gambhir... And obviously greater than that of Raina (8 tests), M Vijay (7 test),Yuvraj(3 test), Pujara (2 test), Badri(2 test)...
Only Sachin played better than Laxman... First find proper replacement than talk of dropping Laxman.

P.S. Even Dravid average was better than Dhoni,Gambhir,Raina, Yuvraj, Murli Vijay, Badri, Purjara

Age should not be a bar as long as you perform! But for Dravid, neither age nor form is on his side.

Dear Dravid have done better than many young cricketers. What happened to Kohli, the so called youngster in this game. on a Bouncy pitch only Dravid stook firm like a rock. hence he is called as a Wall and his records outside India is better than any other cricketers leave alone Sachin and hence let these kohlis and Rainas play good cricket in a bouncy track , then let us think about the replacement of dravid.

He is only fit for 20-20 format and not even for ODI , where he is utter failure. even in 20-20 he is somewhat failure. He is not consistant at all. let them show some technique , then one can count them for the future

It requires a different kind of inner strength for a batsman to play out ball after ball after ball after ball after ball after innocuous ball after innocuous ball after ordinary ball after ball-inviting-to-be-hit after ordinary ball after innocuous ball ......... (yawn.......)

without scoring even singles, like Dravid does.

Test matches might have meant occupation of crease in 1970s and 1980s in the days of Sunil Gavaskar, Chetan Chauhan and Anshuman Gaekwad.

Now teams like Australia, South Africa and England score runs at about 4 per over in test matches.

Obviously, Rahul is dogmatic in following the footsteps of Gavaskar. He and his fans may admire his self-denial.

But the unfortunate and real fact is that such slow batting causes team India to draw winning matches and sometimes even lose.

In sharp comparison, Laxman is a far better batsman who plays according to the situation. By always sending him in to bat at No.6, his career has been dented beyond redemption by his captains.

The future depends on management of resources. It was mismanagement of resources that cost us so much in the past.

Players are typically exposed incorrectly and that results in losing confidence.

4 of the best prospects of Indian cricket were ignored in this tour.

1. A Rahane : FF ave 68 for Tests
2. A Mukund:List-A ave 57 SR 82
3. U Yadav: Pace 145 for Tests
4. Surabh Tiwary: ODI prospects

This was the best chance for them because the upcoming tours of England and Aus are difficult.

Yadav should have bowled at least 200 overs before the Australian tour as a backup.

Winning and losing is not the issue here, it is the management of young players and giving them chances in the right circumstances.

Whats wrong with persisting with Laxman and Dravid ?

Mind telling me the young turks who can replace them with ease ? Why should they make way ? Let the youngsters or who ever it is grab it.
This is not a govt organisation where ones position is intact till 60. If they don't perform consistantly they will be dropped.

If the youngster cannot make his mark, he will be dropped and ignored.

Remember , no one made way for tendy/dravid/ganguly/laxman/kumble etc etc etc

They all earned their place. Ganguly had to wait for 5 years for having a mediocre aus summer.
Dravid had to face the same. He couldn't cement his place in the ODI side until he improved himself.
Laxman was in and out of the team so many times. He had to work hard to make it where he is.

This is why these guys are the role models. By bringing in newblood who don't deserve the place, you will be deteriorating the cricket standards.
