IPL hangover????.....avoid the test cricket please - atleast for now..... You cannot "SLOG" like this in test matches we are going to play in England next month...
Raina has this irresponsible streak in batting which he has to discard quickly if he has any desire to play in Tests.A couple of times in this series he has thrown away his wicket when he should have put his head down and worked for his runs.As his technique is suspect against the rising ball, he needs counter this shortcoming with fierce determination to stick around and wait for the right balls to score off.The "do or die" approach is wrong and being a captain it is worse. Yusuf Pathan is being chosen only for his "potential" not performance. He should only be selected for the 20-20s and left out of the longer formats.Again people like Ishant and Sreesanth should only be considered for Tests not for ODIs. They are aggressive not defensive, containing bowlers.
IPL is not a gauge for any cricketers talent. Yes !it is a pity that Badrinath failed in spite of good domestic season .Yusuf had some good PR people otherwise i do not rate him as a cricketer at Ishant as a bowler -again against the backdrop of IPL -God save the team.Indias ranking is in danger.
it is great to see tamils all around they r the best. it was krish srikant who showed the world how to bat in first 15 overs. i rate him above sachin and sehwag as the best opening batsman they r all bachas in front of him. the present ideal team should be Murali Vijay Mukund(the best opening pair in india rt now) Dinesh kartick Badrinath anirudhh srikant(he is our pride as was his father) R satish(even sachin respects his skills) S raina Dhoni(capt)(since they are loyal to us they can be continued) Ashwin Yo Mahesh S Jakati L balaji this should be indian team in all formats of the game. there shold be no one from bangalore, mumbai and delhi as they have been given enough chances
Beautiful country, beautiful people. Cricket is just another sport and there is absolutely no pressure. It is something to enjoy not to make a LOT of money.
After winning the first 3 ODIs India ran out of luck and the selection policies have surfaced again. The selection blunder of Chawla and Sreesanth was corrected by re-introducing Mishra and to some -extent Ishant.
Manoj Tiwari was a Test batsmen and having him open in 1-dayers will not only kill his confidence in Tests but expose him in a negative manner. Badrinath is another example of a Test batsmen being tried out in 1-dayers just to expose him to international pressure.
Anand Mukund with a List-A average of 57 and and a strike rate of 82 was ahead of Shikar Dhawan, but Riana and Co choose Shikar first, dropped him and then a unsuitable opener like Manoj Tiwari.
The selectors have not sorted out the ability of players through domestic performances. Another blunder for the WI series was the absence of Rahane who averaged 68 and is the number player suitable for Tests.
I am not impressed with Raina saying everybody should get a chance. Does he mean even the BCCI janitors! One has to see whether a player is suitable for a particular type of format.

Not to take these results too seriously. It is just giving the young guns some exposure.

Test match batting has a totally different mindset: stay power is more important than taking singles, acceleration and stroke play.
A Test batsmen playing ODIs and opening against bowlers who are preying on short pitch stuff is not helping the young turks for the future.
give credit to the opposition when the Indian team is beaten??? This is not a new phenomenon. Even when Azhar was captain, all the captains did was to blame their own players. Seldom the Indian skippers say 'They played extremely well' about their opposition teams even when beaten neck and crop.

Because they played real bad. They threw wickets away. If they had tried to their potential and they failed, then credit goes to opposition.

Andy roberts mentioned pace scenario and munaf.
decipher Andy Roberts pride of WI pace.
Andy is basically saying, only his boys can properly pace and take wickets, the rest would be made spinners by videshi coach and circumstance. Pace and control is something not in India-pak(refers to Imran khan as well).
is Andy roberts having problem that Munaf did make india win first 2 matches because WI players could not play his slow balls and now they have cracked some of munaf code. Let munaf figure out what is most effective for him.
