If you compare this WI team to Clive Lloyed's team or even further in past, then this team would get beaten by even the bay side teams of those good old days. There are no quality fast bowlers and batsmen are not worth washing cloths of the likes of Haynes and Richards. No wonder Team A of BCCI is beating them.
Could not trace the thread I wanted to post - so I am doing it here. This war was a total whitewash for the Indian forces as Chinese poured through the border with the intent to show us - "look we can slap you if we want to as many number of times we want - please dont do this again". Nehru was implementing a forward policy to gain some high grounds north of LoC after Mao's barbaric Tibetan showdown. Nehru must have had some balls for this aggression since he was up against the greatest warlord Asia ever produced - Mao Zedong. Mao was a genius in warfare , fought many wars and won all of them - including a very long guerilla campaign against Kai Shekh. The PRC recently infact had repelled the mighty US forces in Korea and was just too good for the small and pitiful Indian army. In contrast our independence was won on non-violence and we basically are a non-warlike nation unlike China. Nehru had no idea what he was up against and Mao must have had a hearty laugh about the forward policy. He infact gave orders to kick out Chinese forces from his foward lines as he clearly underestimated China's might, and that too to a ridiculously small bunch of poorly armed Indian defenders. What had to happen had happened - imagine a few soldiers defending against a force ten times strong. In hindsight this war was a very good lesson for India as it prepared itself better for the next wars in 65 and 71. To this day China has not recognized Indian sovereignty in
