Time to Ban Test Cricket, ODIs&3 Day Matches to Save
by Harry Trueeman on Jun 12, 2011 10:00 AM

Yes Rohit Sharma played an excellent knock to make india win this match and series too.Shame&anti-national action that we a poor country of 1 billion people are still continuing with playing monotonous& time wasting Tests& 3 day matches, etc, May be Baba Ramdev&Anna Hazare must lauch a national agitation to BAN TEST matches&3 Day and One Day Cricket Matches FOREVER.It is time india and poor countries ban Test Cricket& 3 day macthes forever and Play ONLY T20 matches so that millions of man or woman hours are NOT lost watching monotonous test crciket and 3 day macthes, etc. BCCI& rulers are still behaving as slaves of Westerners, shame they have appointed white skinned westerners as coach, assisistant coach etc paying millions of dollars though we have excellent indian coaches like jimmy amarnath, madan lal and so maany other who can do better jobs than foreigners. BCCI and government must NOT allow more than 2 foreign players in each team&that will gove greater opportunity to indians as well. What a shame that BCCI and rulers are behaving as slaves of westerners even now or are they getting huge kick-backs in the deals involving forein players, etc, Millions of cricket fans must not allow our country to be looted again by foreigners&foreign business houses any more.Hope millions of indians are listening&that they will take necessary action to give justice to ind

Rohit SHarma

Good show. Hope for a bright future for Rohit, Kohli and Raina. But these youngsters still have to prove it against top class opposition - something more challenging like Dale Steyn in S Africa. Rohit definitely has the talent.

Your great dhoni score in SA ODi series was 5,5, 13,25 & 7.
He used to shit after seeing Styen/Morkel bowling in entire series.
Sachin scored two hundreds in test series against quality attack of styen/morkel & was major contributor with bat alon with laxman to ensure test series drawn 1-1.
In past also he scored century agianst donald/pollack attack on bouncy SA pitchs. His max average is against Aus in Aus.
Now see your politician dhoni records. Big flop in all overseas matches with no match winning inning in entire career.
Given a choice dhoni will run away from pitch than to face likes of styem/morkel/mcgrath etc.

your great sachin score in sa odi series was less than dhoni.
he used to shit after seeing steyn/morkel bowling in entire series.
sachin was responsible for the loss in the first test. his failure in the first innings was a major reason for our defeat in that test. in that innings it was only dhoni who faced well the sa pacers on that deadly track. nobody lasted as long as dhoni in that innings. even though wickets falling at other end and failure of top order it was thanks to dhoni that we scored over 100 runs. it was sehwag 63 runs, gambhir 8o runs, dravid 43 runs and dhoni 90 runs who put up a good fight even though we were trailing by about 400 runs. it was because of these players that there was a fight in that test.

in 2nd test thanks to laxman and dhoni in both innings we put up a good score and our bowlers bowled us to victory. sachin was a horrible failure once again. and once again it was proved that we can win on bouncy SA pitches facing SA fast bowlers. sachin was the only failure in that test. not surprising of course. it was only expected.

sachin only scores well on flat tracks may they be in india or in SA, eng or Aus. every country has such tracks not only india. whenever sachin has succeded in scoring well abrod it was only on flat tracks. when bouncy pitch he always fails.

we won test in SA and Aus on bouncy pitches only because of our 10 tough players. in aus and sa both tests that we won because of other 10 players sachin complete failure

For your info: Sachin averaged 81.4 in the last away test series against South Africa (with two centuries). And yes, Dale Steyn featured in all three matches.

as usual quantity innings not quality innings or innings of substance...

sachin failed in the swinging conditions in the first innings and his failure to play in that condition was responsible in a big way for our defeat in the first test. in the 2nd test on the worst pitch in SA sachin was a miserable failure and we won through the efforts of other batsmen notably laxman and dhoni and our magnificent bowlers helped us win that test. so again it is proved that we do not need sachin to win a test on foreign soil. in spite of sachin being not in the team or failing even if he is in the team we can still win tests abroad.

like many other people chaturchuramoni sachin's 2 centuries has dazzled your eyes and brains and you cant see in which circumstances they came. you forget to understand that his centuries would have been more important and more crucial had they come in the first innings of first test where the pitch favoured by the ball most and in the 2nd test when the whole track was difficult for all 5 days. but that did not happen and sachin failed in such times.

chaturji, when the pitch and pressure was at its worst sachin failed always in that SA series.

and when the conditions were easier or and the pressure lessened only at those times sachin did well...

but that happens to many people, not just you chatterji...

Rohit has talent to face quality bowling attack.
Raina/kohli has limitation in batting to face top quality bowling on bouncy pitches.
But regional/manipulative politics of dhoni will ensure that rohit sharma (beacuse from mumbai) & partiv patel (threat to dhoni) is kicked out in next series.

Russel of West Indies
by raman govindan on Jun 12, 2011 09:20 AM

with another Russel's like performance, India would have lost.

It has to tighten it's bowling, fielding and improve the morale under duress!
