But I feel still the management needs to be looked into. Why is Shahid quitting. why did haider had to go and tke shelter in some other country. All things apart. Just FYI, Kumble's flipper used to approach the 120-130 kmph mark ;) As far as me abusing him, well I call a spade a spade. Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Team for 1st test should be...... by Sunil Vaidya on Jun 13, 2011 08:11 PM sameer, get out of your speed-mania. speed or fast bowlers never won anybody anything. if we are no. 1 in tests and no. 2 in odi for a considerable period of time it is precisely because we do not have any 'fast bowlers' but have plenty of medium pacers or slow bowlers or spinners. sameer, must i point out to you that we have won 2 odi Wcs and 1 T20 Wc where every major cricket playing nation participated including aus, eng, sa, wi pak, still we won all the above world cups even though there were bowlers in other nations who were 'faster' than our bowlers. we won 1983 WC not with fast bowlers but with ''spinners'' like kapil, madanlal, binny, sandhu, amarnath, azad etc. we won the tri series in aus with the win in best of 3 finals with ''spinners'' like irfan pathan, sreesanth, praveen kumar. similarly in T20 WC we had ''spinners'' like pathan, r p singh, agarkar, sreesanth. we won 2011 odi wc with ''spinners'' like munaf, sreesanth, zaheer, nehra. you want to see bowlers like kapil in our side so that we may remain no. 1 for long period. sameer i would like to point out to you that even kapil dev is a ''spinner'' and we are no. 1 in tests and no. 2 WITHOUT kapil dev. so we do not exactly need him to be no. 1 and reamin no. 1. i hope this little piece of mine will help you in coming out of this speed-mania that you have...
