Seniors are always a Backbone
by kalyan chakravarthi on Jun 10, 2011 05:29 PM  | Hide replies

All are thinking that we dont require Sachin or Dhoni or uvi, Westindies are playing with junior players as we are playing, but now Winning will be tough as Gayle and Pollard will play in 3rd one day onwards, so you people will realize missing seniors

Sheen off the Westindies Series
by Dinesh Balani on Jun 10, 2011 03:35 PM

There was a time when cricketers from other countries use to fear touring the westindies but thats not the case anymore. The absence of senior players like sehwag , gambhir , yuvraj & Dhoni have taken the sheen off the series..What I only hope that we have a team at full strength when we face England in England since they are a much tougher opponent....The TEST SERIES AGAINST ENGLAND should be a crackers since the Top two sides would face each other.

MATCHES ARE BORING WITHOUT SACHIN
by koni on Jun 10, 2011 03:25 PM  | Hide replies

people and media, mostly all the matches without sachin, people not showing interest to watch, still 5 yrs, sachin choosy to play matches of ODI, people lost interest to watch, for making interest of cricket, new format came IPL. whatever is the match, without sachin, people dont like to watch. people used to swtich off the tv's when sachin got out. its really hard for india or world to find the replacement for sachin. some fellow do many blind comments against sachin, without knowledge and without statistics.

koni tell me what is YOUR idea of replacement for sachin?

you want somebody to replace sachin who has got at least 20000 odi runs and 50 centuries. tell me how is that possible?

as a replacement of sachin whom do you want?

who according to yor would qualify? what does he have to do?

should he be some one who has played around 400 odis? or should he be who has played around 300 odis?

or should he be somebody who has played around 150 odis?

or should he be somebody who has not played any odi and somebody who has to make his debut?

koni will you kindly explain what the person who will be sachin's replacement should do to qualify?

We dont require now Elder Players
by Dakota on Jun 10, 2011 03:14 PM  | Hide replies

Now we can retire elder players LIKE Sachin, Yovaraj, Dhoni etc.
This young team looks good. Now BCCI put a line between Performance and Non Performance

follish dakota, y sachin retire, matches getting bore to the cricket fans without sachin. indian team is replacment for every player. first find the replacement for sachin. then ask sachin to get retire. just example- dhoni-partiv, yuvraj-raina, sehwag-gambir. try to find the replacement for sachin in india or world, then ask sachin to retire. still india or world no replacement for sachin. sachin is cricket and cricket is sachin. we all feel the matches bore without sachin. people used to switch off the tv's when sachin got out.

no doubt Sachin is a great cricketer, you can call him a legend...even before there were many legends of cricket in india, like sunil gavaskar, kapil dev, anil kumble etc..in all countries there are legends..when they retire some one else will come to their place..NOBODY IS INDISPENSABLE..in cricket too. after a few years Sachin will also be forgotten like sobers, lloyd, shane, murli, imran khan, wasim akram, jayasurya etc....cricket will not die..people will watch the game with renewed interest...

koni they used to say the same about gavaskar also...

people those days also used to 'shut off the tv sets once gavaskar got out'

at that time too 'there was nobody who could replace gavaskar'

at that time too 'matches were going to bore the cricket fans after his retirement. and people were going to stop watching cricket and cricket was going to die'

Never.Old is Gold. Our old performers will be required for formidable series ahead. However it is a very good move to blood youngsters for this series.

It happens when two teams have huge gap in their level. In 90's India VS Australia, India VS South Africa were the same kind of series for opponents fans.
