all the people who are in support of udrs technology will soon say they are not in favour of this technology once sachin starts getting out repeatedly because of the use of this technology...

UDRS should be avoided...
by Maneet Singh on Jun 11, 2011 12:28 PM

any game should not completely be in hands of devices...human decisions must be encouraged. Umpires must be well trained to give maximum accurate decisions if not all...

INDIA/BCCI CAN CONTROL BOTH UDR AND UMPIRES
by SOHAIL PAKISTAN on Jun 08, 2011 12:44 PM  | Hide replies

THEY CAN PAY UMPIRES TO GIVE DECISION IN THEIR FAVOR OR THEY CAN ASK HAWK-EYE TECHNICIANS TO MANIPULATE THE SOFTWARE. IN EITHER CASE, THEY CHEAT AND WIN.

SO IT DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER UDR OR NOT

about umpire decision

One of the famous joke during mid 70's

Pakistan quoated: If India give two of their little masters(Sunny Gavaskar,GR Vishwanath) to them they can beat India very easily.

Reply of India : If Pakisthan give their two umpires we can win whole world.

A non issue for this match

Even if the UDRS had been allowed by the BCCI it is unlikely it would have made a difference here - the fact is the system is used only very sparingly during ODIs anyway. It's use is widespread only in tests.

That is beside the point. The logic behind the UDRS is that the laws of probability of two mistakes occuring consecutively are more remote than a single mistake. The sooner BCCI thinks on its own and accepts it instead of bowing to the wishes of the "star" players it is better.

UDRS not a big deal
by Oye Kake on Jun 07, 2011 08:41 PM

if it is not there both team gains or loose so the game is fair; unless ofcourse we doubt umpire's real intention..

UDRS helped us
by Suresh Malepati on Jun 07, 2011 08:19 PM  | Hide replies

DRS helped us in the recently concluded world cup. The match vs pakistan when sachin was given LBW off Ajmal's delivery, umpire called sachin out only to turn down after sachin referred to third umpore. Thanks to UDRS sachin went on to add another 40 runs which eventually India won. Had UDRS was not in place who knows India would have lost the match, eventually not won the world cup. It is high time BCCI agree to UDRS henceforth as it would benefit both the teams.

And the irony is, BCCI is opposing UDRS implementation because Sachin doesnt like it!!! (not my words - as written by Peter Roebuck in Hindu)

To use UDRS host board must have full proof technology ie hot spot, ultra Slo Mo and Snickometer, because hawkeye itself is a very flawed technology, and world cup is not a sachin event, its an ICC event hosted by India, Srilanka & Bangladesh and every one saw how flawed was UDRS in world cup. If u believe in what peter boebuck writes then ur knowledge of cricket can be judged very easily.

Does BCCI need another Sydney test to change its mind?
