Paying the price

Afridi is paying the price for not allowing PCB oficials rig the team matches. No wonder they did so well under him in the world cup.

Temperamental Cricketer
by Ravi Kiran on Jun 01, 2011 04:07 PM  | Hide replies

Afridi has still not realised that this world does not like outspoken cricketers for that matter any discipline, unless you are Sachin Tendulkar or Bradman you cant get away, as we have seen how BCCI used all its might and shut down ICL and Kapil Dev away from the cricket fields, no doubt he has great deal to offer in the shorter version of the game, any cricketer cannot progress further if he does not have the composure to carry himself on and off the field, this is perennial problem with Pakistan cricket setup and will be .. that's why Imran Khan stands an example not only Pakistan cricket but also for world cricket as well, with time everybody will realise what he has done wrong if he doesn’t then that end of it !!

Who says Sachin is not targetted. In a recent interview, Balasaheb lambasted Sachin for playng for money not for country. Cricketers and sportsmen should be limited to their field. Not to speakout about politics.. that is a lesson to be learned.

PCB one step ahead of WICB
by Randy Orton on Jun 01, 2011 04:04 PM  | Hide replies

We saw Gayle play in IPL inspite of having rift with WICB. PCB I must say are one step ahead of WICB coz they have made sure that Afridi in his prime wont be able to play any professsional cricket. This is just disgraceful!!!
Wonder what happens to the team he was supposed to lead in SLPL???

We must not forgot that the PCB defended him in pitch digging episode against England and recently Ball Biting :) incident in australia.

Please do remember his World Cup performance
by Ram Kumar on Jun 01, 2011 03:56 PM  | Hide replies

It's because of Afridi, the Pakistan team was able to get into World Cup semis. And then they won against West Indies as well in the recently concluded One day series.

Pakistan cricket is dogged more by PCB than by its players; Afridi is any day a better Captain than Misbah. If there is a muddle between Coach and captain, that needs to be solved rather than remove the Captain.

This NOC withdrawal speaks of their cheap and vengenceful intent. Pakistan Cricket will go nowhere by these actions.

who cares....this mad dog afridi used to say a lot. Just chat chat and no substance. when his teams needs him most he scores 4 and 5. just over-hyped player like yusuf pathan. A few sixes doesnt make you a good player. anyways, now he will have a lot of time to sit at home and eat balls. lolz.
