all govt officials are paid salary monthly. and they work hard for second income. they give prominence for second income. same way IPL remunearation is more than test cricket. that is the reason test cricket is not given importance by these cricketers. only cricketers who would like to survive in the team, plays well. murali bangalore

INDIA NO.1

AS WE EXPECTING THESE PERFORMANCES AFTER WINNING THE WORLD CUP....IPL.....WEST INDIES TOUR.....WE ARE AT LEAST FOR NOW NO.1 IN BOTH FORMS,BUT LOOKING AT THE PLAYERS ARE WE GETTING THE FEELING....THEY SEEMS TO TAKING IT TOO CASUALLY.....THERE IS ALWAYS A FEAR AMONG OUR ARDENT FANS THAT WHILE BATTING ONCE A WICKET FALL THERE IS NO ONE TO BACKUP,ALSO THE SAME IS IN THE CASE OF BOWLING...WAS IT THE SAME IN CASE OF AUSTRALIA OR WEST INDIES WHEN THEY WERE THE DOMINANT FORCE IN WORLD CRICKET?? ARE WE ONLY GOING TO BE HAPPY WITH INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES OR LANDMARKS...WHY WE CAN'T PLAY LIKE A TEAM & UPTO OUR POTENTIAL...IS TOO MUCH CRICKET OD TOO MUCH MONEY IS DEPRIVING US OF SEEING "TEAM INDIA" WE WOULD ALWAYS LOVE TOO....

...ALSO CAN THESE QUESTIONS CAN BE PUT TO THE PLAYERS & MAIN IMPORTANTLY TO THE BCCI.

Harbhajan Singh
by Rajesh Vyas on Jul 27, 2011 07:36 PM

It is time to look at the performance of Harbhajan in the recent past. He has been included in the playing eleven only on the basis of NOT SO BRILLIANT OR OUTSTANDING Performance. The players should be included in the playing eleven only on current performance. Harbhajan certainly does not qualify in the team on this count. HOWEVER, IN INDIA, WE HAVE THE HABIT OF BASKING IN THE PAST (READ DISTANT PAST) GLORY AND DEPRIVING DESERVING CANDIDATES.

Lack of lbw DRS may hurt England: Flower
by D S on Jul 27, 2011 04:57 PM  | Hide replies

Are you JOKING, DRS without LBW has already damaged India. Look at the cleverness.

Peitersen used referral to full benefit to get a double century. Peitersen turned LBW into a nick and asked for referral.

then, dravid catch was turned down using replay (they could have changed angle of camera if it were angrez).

Peitersen USED PADS TO NUDGE A BALL HITTING THE WICKETS and AT THE SAME TIME USED THE BAT to show it was a nick.
then, cleverly called for DRS because bowden turned LBW into a snick (a catch situation). thus peitersen TRICKED THE LAZY AND UNFIT INDIANS who are made unfit by their useless coach and fitness experts.
angrez are tactical as well as cheats. used the dutch players cleverly and yet prepared themselves using international players. you can see stuart broad was imitating indian players action (bowling and batting ) to show how angrez planned to beat it.

Strangely, There were no fitness problems for IPL..

Looks at these money crazy people..Look at their real mettle..

Feel cheated, why we spend looking at these selfish players..

Do they really know what being number one means?

One wonders...

Lets wait and see...

Wrong !!
by Yogesh Hasabnis on Jul 27, 2011 12:41 PM  | Hide replies

The Trent Bridge win in 2007 laid foundation, is it ??? Wrong !! The Headingley win in 2002 under Sourav Ganguly's captaincy, when India beat England by an innings laid the foundation for India's progress towards the number 1 spot. Stating that the Trent Bridge win changed everything for Indian cricket is a joke. It's the Sourav Ganguly-times of Indian cricket that changed everything for the Indian Cricket !!!

Though i largely agree with you, Ganguly started playing politics in the latter part of his captaincy career. Success went to his head and he thought that captaincy was his birth right. That led to his downfall but his comeback was equally remarkable.

But Ganguly's perceived politics is not the subject of the debate. And about your comment that he believed that "captaincy was his birthright", I would say that he deserved to be the captain far more than the 2 players who were appointed captains after him.

These 2 players should have been appointed captain before Ganguly. That would have brought laurels to our country much earlier.

No.1

Those supporting India blindly for No.1 status in Test cricket should realize that:-

- Most Test Series victories by India in last 2-3 years have come on flat Indian or similar type wickets (WI etc.).

- India have failed to register away Test Series victory in Australia, South Africa & Srilanka during their last tour. India have merely managed to square test series away in these countries.

- MS Dhoni & Co. are playing too much limited overs cricket (IPL, Champions League, T20 & ODI)which have adversely affected their Test match playing abilities.

- Gone are the days when India used to beat opponents with full brownwash Test series on home wickets. Opponents visiting India are losing one-off test & managing to draw rest test matches.

- Indian bowlers are not physically fit & penetrative enough to wrap the opposition, therefore struggle to take 20 wickets in a single test match.

- Recently concluded WI tour proved that India do not play aggressive cricket required for certain situation in Test matches. 1-0 series win against weakest team like WI do not suit No.1 ranked Test team. Also that one-off test India won was purely by Indian bowlers who came good in comparison with ordinary WI bowlers. Indian batting in that Jamaica test had failed miserably except for couple of batsmen who rescued the situation. That win was like relatively better team won against minnow team.

India never appeared to be No.1 Test side r

It was the same England who lost a test series to India. Have the pitches changed dratically? To my opinion IPL has affected the fitness of indian players to a gr8 extent. Hope India will bounce back in the next match.

Player's injury!!!

I want to know why the players get injured or catch fever during an important overseas series only and play without any fuss during the cash rich IPL.
Gambhir, Zaheer and even Tendulkar are examples of it.

yOU SHOULD NOT IMAGINE SITUATION IN ENGLAND, SITTING HERE.
DIDN'T YOU SEE PLAYERS WEARING SWEATERS? IT MAY BE TOO COLD OUT THERE. CLIMATE IN ENGLAND IS UNPREDICTABLE & CHANGING. THAT'S WHY OUR PLAYERS MAY HAVE GOT AFFECTED.
ONE CAN GET FEVER ANY TIME.
IN OUR COUNTRY CLIMATE IS WARM & ALL OF US ARE ACQUAINTED. YOU MUST HAVE ANGREZ FALLING DOWN DUE TO EXHAUSTION ON HOT & HUMID CHENNAI WICKETS. ARE THEY PRETENDING THERE?

Dear, my question is arising due to the following fact -
There have been 4 IPLs (one in South Africa), apart from the Champions series, spanning across 4 years and the players are not injured during any of the editions.

And during almost every abroad series, injuries catch them up.

Isn't it strange.

If you play less or more injury can happen. We have enough bench strength. so don;t worry.
