I am sure India will hit back and win the 2nd test at Trent Bridge and put England & Botham in proper prospective. They are going ga ga over just one win. Let them wait for the next 2 to 3 weeks and then they will know their place.
Beefy yes Test cricket they seem to be closer to being No: 1 which will be challenged very soon by South Africans. India, Aussies also will keep challenging them.
But where is England when it comes to One Day? Have not won one wrold cup so far.

these england people are only ready to talk,before world cup that former england bowler darren gough said that england will win the world cup and now this funniest person telling that england is the king of cricket world by considering only 1 single match against a team suffering from injuries,if india had sehwag and fully fit zaheer ,england team will struggle badly,even in india's last tour of england ,india didn't play well in lords but they survived,and in the next match england lost badly,england won ashes in 2005 by 2-1 margin,but in australia they lost 5-0 ,this england team and old english players will always talk nonsense
If Gambhir clicks and stay for 3 hours , India on roll. The rest Dravid, Sachin, VVS, Dhoni and Raina will be better off. Gambhir should be fit and play for minimum 2 to 3 sessions.
England has beaten Aus in Aus and SA in SA. Whereas India has moved to No. 1 position just by playing home series since 2008. We saw what happened in SA last year. The same is going to be repeated in Eng and Aus this year.

In SA, India did OK. They drew the series 1-1. But this one will probably be much worse. Could get 4-0, if India doesn't improve quickly.

srikant and company gotten away with worse selection ...of ... he should not put forth the best of the best and should not stop. otherwise, we have no chance.
If India doesn't improve dramatically, it will be 4-0 England. If Zaheer is again played in the II test, we will definitely lose it. Play Sreesanth instead.
This may sound sacreligious but the truth is..Ian Botham is right. Indian fans need to get ready for a severe pasting in this series. God only knows how no.1 and no.2 rankings differentiate calibre..all I can say is that in any competitive sport one can not stroll into the park and hope to win.This is not a fluke,casino-spin 20 over gilli danda.Barring three or four players the rest don't belong..i just hope it does not turn out to be a 4-0 washout..too much economic dependence on India succeeding in World Cricket..c,mon umpires and referees...find a way to save the Indian team
