How to bowl to SRT
by Suman KK on Jul 19, 2011 09:11 AM  | Hide replies

Advising bowlers how to bowl to sachin is applicable only when he is comparatively new at the crease and of course bowler must be of some calibre, once he settle down he literally plays with the mind of a bowler and score at his own will irrespective of any field setting. And then if he gets out you can say he has gifted his wicket rathan than bowler earning it.

Applicable also when ball starts reversing. If there is something in the wicket, he can be had quite easily and cheap. But if not, then the will make the most of it.

SRT was a great player but

SRT was a great player , but i feel it is now time for him to retire .

He played decently in the last 2 years , world cup also won , so it is better if he announces his retirement and exit gracefully.

Feel like he is not announcing retirement due to financial factors

dont comment in past tense, rather he is playing great since 2009, even a govt. employee who perform duties honestly sometimes get extension even if there are millions of unemployed youths and in case of sachin not a single one in 1.21 billion to replace

India will bounce back
by aji liyon on Jul 19, 2011 12:55 AM  | Hide replies

Whenever India have done badly in a practice game, history tells us that they will come back hard. But India will definitely miss Sehwag. He would have been the difference between the two sides. The hype about Sachin's 100th ton is not going to hurt India, as Sachin will be under pressure only when he gets nearer to a hundred. Even if he gets out nearer to a hundred then also it won't hurt India as even then he would have put strong base for a good total.

Not having Sehwag in a team is blessing. He is unpredictable and unreliable and puts other batsmen under pressure. I think Gautam and Virat Kohli should open up and give steady platform.

The biggest threat
by A Singh on Jul 18, 2011 10:42 PM  | Hide replies

For Tendulkar, and also Laxman, the biggest threat is not coming from Swing and Bounce, but from Graeme Swann.

Not swing & bounce but rain can win Eng
by Look2me Pan on Jul 18, 2011 10:11 PM

Whenever it rained J Anderson & Co were effective as seen during SLanka tour. If it rains Eng wins else the opposition's day. Like Indian are so called good batsmen on flat pitch, Eng bowlers are effective only on juicy wickets.
