Laxman has been ill-treated.
by A Singh on Jul 16, 2011 07:47 PM  | Hide replies

Once he was dropped to induct Yuvraj Singh! It happened in 2006 against Englqand at Mumbai.
India promptly lost that match after dropping about half a dozen catches in the slips, which Laxman could have easily gobbled. In the slips, he is not brilliant, but very safe.

laxman is far superior a batsman than yuvi & raina in test.
But then yuvi & raina are dhobiji best friend & hence any drop in form for laxman will be sucidal & dhobiji will take no cjance to replace him with his friends raina/yuvi

Ganguly wasted his career
by Lord Prosperity on Jul 16, 2011 06:15 PM  | Hide replies

Ganguly wasted Laxman's career to keep his own boat afloat. He used to come earlier than Laxman and all Laxman was usually the one who batted with tail-enders who usually do not stay long. With that kind of conditions, he ended up with a higher average than Ganguly and yet was always played after him tells a big story. Greg Chappell openly said that Ganguly did not allow Laxman to play well in his letter to BCCI and it is true.

let us not fall back on Chappell's comment to evaluate Ganguly .... except if you are just not jealous of Ganguly due to some parochial reasons.

It seems you are not aware of cricket matches during Ganguly's captaincy... Ganguly was instrumental in rebuilding the team and bringing in some promising players who are still playing for India... Why he should try to waste Laxman's career... Anybody will say that Dravid is much better at No. 3 compared to Laxman because of his consistency...

it was ganguly's decision to send laxman 1st down in the famous eden test.Later laxman lost this position to dravid due to inconsistency. As far as chappel concerned,he only came to divide and rule

Yea it is a known fact that selfish Ganguly almost ruined Laxman's career, so that he could prolong his own.

stop stupid comments on Ganguly .... he was by far the best leader we had in those days, whatever he did was for the good of Indian cricket, it has been proved many times and even today we are reaping the benefits of the change Ganguly brought to the cricket of India.
