Bhajji has to be rested and made to play Ranji matches. He has to work on his basics and believe in taking wickets. He can't hide under his 'batting ability'. he will go the Irfan way....

Batting or Bowling?

Definitely not in bowling. with less than half the wickets compared to the highest wicket taker - is he in form? Bishoo has done better than him against a better spin batsman

Third Test

It was disappointing to see India not taking up the challenge of scoring about 4 runs an over with 47 overs left in the day. Even when it gave up the chase it had to score less than a run a ball with 7 wickets left. Even if a couple of wickets had fallen going for these runs there were enough batsmen to ride out the last overs. So Dhoni shutting shop was not justifiable as India is the No1 team and should have demonstrated that it deserved this ranking! Dravid's defensive mindset needs to change. Granted the 1st wicket fell early but Dravid, while not taking great risks, could have rotated the strike with the more aggressive Vijay. The fact that Dravid took almost 90 balls to score 34 in the chase shows his "safety first" mindset! While people don't expect him to be a Sehwag and score at a run a ball, even if had scored these runs in 50-55 balls India would have had at least 21 overs to knock off the 87 required runs instead of the 15 overs!Dravid slow running between wickets also contributes to his woes.
Given the scenario of Mukund's early departure,Dhoni could have promoted VVS and kept Dravid for rear guard action in case of quick wickets.VVS plays his strokes and is comfortable against pace.Anyway the match is done and dusted so there is not much point in "ifs & buts"!Dhoni should bear these in mind in future!

Pace Attack is the key
by J ADITYA on Jul 12, 2011 04:34 PM  | Hide replies

Harbhajan has not been effective with the ball, but experience will give advantage over other spinners. But Pace attack is key for India's success Eng batting is great touch so lot depends Zaheer, Ishant and Munaf. Harbhajan might add variety but he needs to be at his best to make an impact in the team. Hope 400 gives him some confidence.

Harbhajan has been effective with his bowling most of the time. Nobody can beGod to take wickets all the time. Even best bowlers in the world get a beating. He has always put pressure on the batsmen & catches are dropped mostly on his bowling. He is effective in fielding & batting. He is the most effective fielder in Indian side with his overall performance. He is a MUST for Indian side.

Parvan, you sound like a paid agent for Bhajji. He has been pathetic in the last few series. He hides his inefficiency under his arrogance which he calls aggression ! hightime he is rested and made to play Ranji matches. He is a loser.

Not Munaf but Praveen Kumar....Munaf is a good ODI bowler but lacks the variety for Test Matches.

Murali at least got 800 wickets against his name. Where is Bhajji? can't compare Bhajji and Murali.
