time and again

time and again we have relinquished tests when we are supposed to win, where its ganguly or draivd or kumble or dhoni its same story, this test was no different..thats why westindies team took a lap round the ground as if they won the series.
if australia were in similar situation they will surely go for the kill.
this decision not to go for win cost us 2 points in ICC ratings and more importantly
we have to satisfy with 1-0 rather than 3-0
to a certain extent rain played in part in the last two games.

it is because of the indian teams many decisions that you have to be satisified that we are no. 1 in the first place...

watever it is...

Its just foolish not to try for a win..
Enough has been said..but being a No. 1 team, they just did not deliver
I mean Dhono and co does not have it in them
Some blogers were blindly supporting every move of team...dont know.what kind of people they are...
86 runs 90 balls...wats wrong of they tried?
Even if u fail to reach target and draw the match, all would be happy..but without putting effort...not at all acceptable
No excuses for this...No excuses...No excuses.
India should stop playing test cricket.

India never tried to chase on 5th day without sehwag!. if sehwag would have been there result would be different. India always played a glamble if sehwag cliks they go for a win if he fails settle with draw. No surprises!!

Giving Up Easily

bishoo was bowling round the wicket (negative bowling) with packed on side field which may allowed batsman to score maximum 15 to 16 runs in his 7 overs and therefore to score 70 runs in 8 overs is really a very tough job, but still dhoni afford another 2 wickets (himself and kohli) in trying and then playing off remaining overs. Just my opinion

Suppandi
by Vikas Banga on Jul 12, 2011 10:48 AM

Yesterday people like suppandi were saying that Dhoni is coward

In the 2nd test same Dhoni posted sportive declaration with a target for WI(280 in 80 overs). At one point it looked WI can win it.

Now after one match he becomes a coward.
Some poeple like Suppandi and Ashish write here for the sake of criticism. Nothing else.

I do agree, India should go for it. But there are some other reasons too. Bishoo bowling around the wicket outside leg(negative Bowling). How can they make runs.
The fault was actually not getting the 9th wicket at right time.

Sensible thinking of dhoni..
by Renju on Jul 12, 2011 10:28 AM  | Hide replies

had he tried for victory from begining there was possibility of losing match. Then those who are calling coward would be calling him foolish.. Bedi is always approached by media when they want to hear some nonsense and start discussion on that.

Rendu ...by that "brave" draw India lost 2 points in ranking despite winning(!) series .....and west Indies gained 2 points despite going down by 0-1....go figure that out...well it's very hard for a dummbo like u to understand diff. between "brave" cricket and chiken defensive play only for a happy draw criket. :)

by Rajaji on Jul 12, 2011 09:37 AM  | Hide replies

It was commonsense to not go after run ??

15 over 86 runs with 7 wickets in hand ??
I dont think so ...it's common sense to go after it...i hope this fatso don't become another chappal who destroyed Indian cricket and so many players career, like irfan, ganguly etc few years back with his silly experiments.
WHAT KIND NUMBER ONE TEAM R WE ? WHO FEAR THAT LAST RATED TEAM WEST INDIES WILL TAKE 7 WICKETS IN 15 OVERS ON A PITCH WHERE WE COULDN'T OUT NUMBER 10 BATSMAN FOR SOME 37 OVERS !!!

not all the games are IPL .. understand it ,in test cric its nearly impossible to score an asking rate of 4 on 5th day.. when bowlers attack batsmen can easily score 4-5 runs.. but when bowlers want to defend a runrate the can easily do by attacking leg stump putting fielders for tht.. ppl who never watched test cric are posting the comments here.

Rendu ...(funny name BTW)
the point is not if they chased down that 86 in 15 overs with 7 wickets in hand but they never tried it....so r u saying India would have lost those 7 wickets in last 15 overs if have tried ?? and btw as u watch "test" cricket ..what was the point of playing if u r not "tested" ...specially number one team never give up....bitter but truth that India never tried to win it.....not only this match but so many times in past as well if wining a series will only play for draw in rest of matches...and choootiya like u will support it.
