by Anurag Rathore on Jul 07, 2011 12:38 PM

1.On the 17th of January 2008, became the first Indian wicketkeeper to effect five international dismissals in an innings against Australia - equalling Adam Gilchrist’s record
2.Holds the record for highest runs scored by a wicketkeeper, i.e. 183 not out
3.His innings of 183 not out is the highest score made by anyone in the second innings of an ODI. The former record was held by Brian Lara for scoring 153 against Pakistan
4.Became the first Indian to hit 10 sixes in an ODI
5.Made a record of scoring 120 runs in an ODI from boundaries and sixes(15 boundaries and 10 sixes)
6.Is the only second Indian to reach 1st position on LG’s ICC ODI batting rankings

Dhoni is more influential than Obama and Messi.....
by Anurag Rathore on Jul 07, 2011 12:35 PM

Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who lead Team India to its first World Cup title in 28 years, found himself ranked above global football icon Lionel Messi and U.S. President Barack Obama in the Time magazine's list of 100 most influential people in the world for the year 2010. He, ranked 52nd in the chart. The Time magazine described him as "captain fantastic." The highest-ranked Indian in the latest Time list, he is only the second Indian sportsman after Sachin Tendulkar to make it there.

Wishing more success
by vicky on Jul 07, 2011 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

Wishing Dhoni a happy birthday and wishing him more success. We have to agree that Dhoni has been statistically the best captain in terms of tournaments and series wins that India has won under his captaincy. But there is also fair amount of criticism against him on his batting performances. Yes, Dhoni has been faring badly in his batting and barring the one match of World Cup final, there is nothing much to talk about in the recent past. WI series, as does other overseas series, Dhoni has been a flop. I just wish he comes good in his batting as well and give a fitting reply to his critics. Then we can proudly say that Dhoni is the best captain who leads from the front by setting an example by his consistent performances.
