Look into that mirror,Sachin by Ian Chappell
by cool dude on Jul 06, 2011 03:39 AM  | Hide replies

Before anybody else makes a decision on what will happen to Tendulkar the player himself has to have a good long look into the mirror and decide what he's trying to achieve in the game. At the moment he looks like a player trying to eke out a career; build on a glittering array of statistics. If he really is playing for that reason and not to help win as many matches as he can for India then he is wasting his time and should retire immediately.

If Tendulkar had found an honest mirror three years ago and asked the question; "Mirror, mirror on the wall who is the best batsman of all?" It would've answered; "Brian Charles Lara." If he asked that same mirror right now; "Mirror, mirror on the wall should I retire?" The answer would be; "Yes."

Why Ian Chappal is crying foul on Sachin Tendulkar, coz, Ricky Ponting another cricker from his own country who could only come close to Sachin is now far behind of him and apart from that I see no other reason why should Chapple crib about ? Please leave Sachin and let him play enough of his favourite game and retire

i agree with u that too much money is given to cricketers, media is also hugely responsible, they are not promoting other sports.
all sportspersons who perform creditably in any discipline should be encouraged , for that indian people should come out of the cricket mindset.

ONLY BATTING HERO

Indian batsmen always after easy pitches where they can score double triple centuries and achieve personal milestone even if matches end in boring draw.

We saw what he did in South Africa against the deadliest bowling attack in the world earlier this year. Prior to that we saw how well he did against the Aussies. And prior to that we saw how well he did in Sri Lanka! Now he;s making merry against the #9th rated Test team in the world, LOL.

Don't pass the buck on pitches for poor technique
by pradeep agarwal on Jul 05, 2011 05:28 PM  | Hide replies

He is needlessly trying to save youngsters who are not yet equipped to tackle lively pitches.he along with VVS & Raina have done well while others including MSD are known for poor technique against pace.MSD is technically most flawed batsman who can score only when ball is neither swinging or turning & comes at knee height.Raina had serious problem against bouncers but practiced hard to overcome it

lol. More myths and opinionated stuff. Anyone like you who watched Dravids first Aus tour would have drawn such conclusions of dravid himself. Dont underrate something called persistence and determination. It can cover for lack of talent in lots of cases. But kids like you..

What he is saying is that this will be a good education for the younger players. He is not justifying the failure. Not every player succeeds straight away.

If you checked Cricinfo , Mukund's average is 58 at domestic level, which is as good as anyone else playing domestic cricket.

The zonal quota system was there for a long time. I don't think you have followed Indian cricket. It is only within the last 10 years that India has started breaking out of the quota system, and that is being reflected in the performances.

A big lie called MSD
by rajkamal dubey on Jul 05, 2011 04:45 PM  | Hide replies

i have said this time and again...dhoni's position in the Indian team is on the strength of his recent endorsements and the millions that the media and corporates have invested in him to make him a brand...any neutral observer of the team would say that based on his performance he should have been out 3 years back...how else will you explain the media cacophony when dhodi was wrongly given out...as if it would have made a difference...and also watch the credit Dhoni gets undeservingly every time india wins, every time some other bowler or batsman performs exceptionally...the laurels ultimately rest on the so called captain "COOL(sic)" who had apparently made them perform even though his individual performance had been worse than club-level...notice how how his shortcoming and exceptionally poor performance of late everywhere - Tests, T290's have been selectively blanked out by the media and the commentators who are hand-in-glove with the advertisement agencies..for them the corporates are the bread and butter...the corporates have madeDShoni a demi-god..so any criticism of Dhoni is blasphemy..evrytthing, every bad decision that Dhoni has made as a captain, he has been ultra-defensive at best has been made to look like a master move by these commentators..Dhoni's captaincy is the biggest myth in the world of sports..in recent times, raina, gambhir and sehwag has also won matches as captain with teams that were far ordinary,we do not need a 10 man In

we do not need a 10 man Indian team with a non-playing captain whose only purpose in staying in the team is to serve the vested interests of the corporate and advertising agencies...anyone can captain this team and perform just as well because of the individual briliance...indian public should see through this media hype and false propaganda

We shall not undermine leadership skills. Sachin OR Dravid OR VVS would not have as successful as Dhoni. Dhoni's attitude, age and support he got from seniors - all worked together for his success as captain. If he scores too - well, take it as a bonus.mqcb

He is definitely a very good leader but has to do more with bat especially when traveling out of India.he played one good knock which luckily won the cup however it was a debatable decision to come ahead of in form Yuvraj which turned out to be favorable for team.

He is a good wicketkeeper. If you look at the batting record of Indian wicketkeepers, he is just as good or as bad as any of them. Let us not compare with Gilchrist, who was a one off. As far as captaincy is concerned, Ganguly, Dravid and Kumble laid a good foundation and he is building on it. This is important because Indian cricket used to always go 1 step ahead 2 steps back. This trend has been arrested. A real assessment of his captaincy will come when the seniors go. Let us wait and watch

MS should be OUT
by rajkamal dubey on Jul 05, 2011 04:44 PM  | Hide replies

I wonder why the media and TV news channels no longer concentrate on Dhoni’s failures both in batting as well as dropped catches. I wonder what the reason is for this deafening silence. Are they in the pay-rolls of these advertising agencies that have made Dhoni a demi-god? The same media which used to be a hound dog till the other day have repeatedly ignored and glossed over Dhoni’s dismal performances. But they have unfailingly heaped false praise on him when someone else in the team has performed and also created a useless ruckus when he was mistakenly given out of a no-ball as if his stay would have made a huge difference to the course of the match.
