Can Watching Cricket tames Corruption ?
by CoreSubjects on Jul 02, 2011 03:11 PM

Why should we waste time in watching Matches which only flush the bank account of those who already have enough money to spend time in luxury ?
Many switch to another channel the moment it shows Cricket in one form or another.
Cricket is no more respected. Infact, commercials showing Cricketers as their brand ambassadore are infact devaluing their image and brand recall.
Better they should provide quality in Product to penetrate market in an effective way.

Sohail rightly said. Although we are the no.1 team in the world in test cricket, we are notplaying like a no.1 side e.g. like australia.
The Indian batsmen scored pathetically as if this was the toughest pitch and against the best bowling attack in the world. A run rate of 2.5! RD and VVS have had a strike rate of less than 50??? Against this attack? Have we become so defensive?

just imagine RD & VVS had got out going after this WI attack,India woould've crumbled and got out within 150!
WI would have had a good one and a half days play to wrap up the test match!!
all your comments would have been in reverse order!

LAKSHMINARASIMHAN PARTHASAARATHI
scot free umbires
by LAKSHMINARASIMHAN PARTHASAARATHI on Jul 02, 2011 12:58 PM

It is high time some rules are laid down for umbires also. It is very hard for a player to get punishment after being wrongly declared by an umbire. After giving a wrong decision, reporting the same and inflicting punishment to the player amounts to double punishment for a nonwrong doer and the wrong doer, viz., umbire go scot free. It is very very unfair. Ofcoure umbiring is a thankless job and very very difficult. But they are paid very health mathc fee for this. When such is the case they have to justify the fee received by them. So it is high time that some rules are laid down and if a player so his unhappyness for a wrong decision of an umbire, he should not be punished. On the otherhand, if the players claim is incorrect, he may be punished. In any law double punishment for a no fualt of him is not acceptable. Similalry in a match if an umbire commites more than one mistake, his match fee should be reduced if a graded manner. So that the umbires will also be accountable. After wrongly declaring Raina as out, the same umbire also harped a fine of 25% match fee. However he will go home with his full match fee inspite of this wrong decision. It is rediculous. L.PARTHASARATHY, POLLACHI.

EndGame

Objections of BCCI to DRS only tell you that this group in the ICC are the most corrupt ever. The game has been twisted completely into a bookie's paradise byPawar and Co. IPL is the IllegitimateChild of theUnholyNexus between Bookies and the powers-that-be in International cricket

The DRS makes fixing difficult as the LBW decision is the easiest thing for players and umpires to fix, if it can never be reviewed and questioned. Cricket, which used to be a contest of the mind hasDegenerated into a pre-fixedCircus like WWF games
