No. Hair, make-up etc. is to psyche out the opponent batsmen. It kind of puts fear in their heart. Therefore hair is very important.

Some wickets suit some bowlers much better

Ishant style of bowling just suits the fast wickets of England and Australia. It is as simple as that.

Pace and Bounce!
by A Singh on Jul 01, 2011 12:43 PM  | Hide replies

Somebody in the Indian think tank (possibly Venkatesh Prasad) thinks that bowling or trying to bowl fast is a crime, and pitching the ball in right areas is all that matters and is all that fast bowling is all about.
How else can we explain the drop in speeds of Irfan Pathan, Munaf Patel and Sreesanth? Somebody needs to tell the bowlers that no matter how accurate you are, you have to be able to bowl above a 'critical' speed to be able to be consistently successful in Test Cricket, and you should be able to let a real quick one slip in every now and then. Bowlers like Praveen Kumar may be able to exploit helpful conditions in an odd match or two, but cannot be successful in the long run, and they can be selected as new ball bowlers only in India.
Under these circumstances, how Ishant Sharma has managed to retain his speed, is a matter of great surprise, and may require a Government Enquiry.
By the way, he too has lost some speed, because I remember him having bowled over 150kph at Perth I don't remember when.

The plain truth no indian fast bowler has the stamina for consistent fast bowling.Take any indian fast(?) bowler he goes huffing puffing after just 3-4 overs.

It is a combination of Venkatesh Prasad & Dhoni think tank that destroyed many a young fast bowler's desire for more pace. Accuracy is allright but bowling medium pace gives a batsman that much more time to adjust his shots. There should be no compromise to pace even if the bowler proves to be a little uneconomic.
