"former captain Allan Border has advised the selectors to pick an "out and out" pace attack if Australia are to win their fourth World Cup trophy...." Stupid rediff reporters have done it again..!!! Australia already have won four world cups - 1987, 1999, 2003, and 2007.

You have mistaken, it is to be understood as fourth consecutive 4th world cup.
For the moment let us assume Border is right. But compare this aussie attack with that of windies, Marshall, Garner, Croft, Roberts, Holding etc Is he really serious ?

Tait and Johnson are not good enough in Indian conditions. Tait is not consistent enough and he wont get the bounce and pace he gets in Australia to pick wickets. Johnson wont get the swing that he is reliant on. Bollinger may be a better bet for them as he played in IPL before and did a good job. Brett Lee is always a great bowler and has lots of experience. They dont have good enough spinners and sub continent teams will dominate them easily. So in a way Border is right. If Australia has to win, their pace bowling has to click.

Gavaskar and Vishwnath played without helmet and much of today's protection and ag genuine quick bowlers. They are streets ahead of the present class of batsmen of India.

It is no way comparable to the great Windies attack who were masters in all conditions on all pitches in all parts of the world. They were no ordinary quicks, but genuine quicks who could produce match winning acts anywhere
Imagine someone like Holding or Roberts or Ambrose not finding a place in all time World great XI. And they were masters of their crafts.
