Difference between Mumbai and other cities
by Aditya on Jan 28, 2011 05:58 PM  | Hide replies

CWG Stadium in Delhi - Way off the Deadline and work finished in utterly shabby condition.
Eden Gardens in Kolkata - Stadium not ready so cant host World cup matches.
Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai - Stadium full ready much before time schedule with state of art facilities..everyone looking forward to World Cup Final in Mumbai.

Thats the difference between Mumbai people and rest of India people. Mumbaites work very hard and always meet all deadlines. Whereas people from other cities of India dont know how to work hard and only interested to reap benefits of work done by Mumbaites. Thats why Mumbai is the pride of India!!

Hey dude.. I am from bengaluru, and its not for no reason that we are called the silicon valley. I work with satyam, and you should take a look at the work ethics of the techies here that has made blore the most happening city, from the sleepy pensioners paradise it was in 90s. You may think i am joking, but suggest u spend a weekend to see how a city should be like

Bangalore only survives on IT industry and nothing else. In Mumbai we have all industries and all Corporate honchos and CEOs are settled here. Be it the BSE or India's No. 1 Company Reliance, all big companies are in Mumbai. Its because of the undying spirt of Mumbai. It is not only the city with the highest GDP in India, it also ranks among the world's top ten trade centres. Mumbai contributes 25 per cent of industrial output and 70 per cent of capital transactions to India's economy. Mumbai accounts for about 1 per cent of the total population in India but has a per capita income which is almost three times that of India. Mumbai accounts for 14 per cent of India's income tax collections and 37 per cent of the corporate tax collections in the country.
Bangalore is just NOTHING compared to Mumbai.

Mumbai pitch is good only for mud wrestling. India always looses there. and Mumbai does not get any opportunity to organize any big events. Why?

There is no roads. Only people and people. No good arrangements.

Excellent comment!! You hit the nail on the head. Each city has its own good and bad things, and every person who lives in the city does have the pride. However mumbaikars are like bit more prouder.I hope it is not a case of frog in a well

by Partha Das on Jan 28, 2011 05:50 PM

Pathetic people looting the country...It takes months to negotiate how much will be looted by which official, even before a letter moves a table...Then when work starts, the story starts again. payments held up,sanctions not released, planning permissions delayed- all because of one thing - where is my cut? A project is more of a party for everyone involved - only the public spends their money, while everybody else rushes in to earn some.

IS THIS OF SURPRISE TO ANYONE
by Sameer Bhagwat on Jan 28, 2011 05:33 PM

Is anyone surprised at the latest embarassement in sports. We are a cricket mad nation and when we get the opportunity of staging the world event in that sport that we dream that after way back in 1983 there is any possibilty of us winning anything in the world stage we are as usual let down by the beloved politicians and administrators even before a ball is bowled. After the embarassement of the commonwealth games fiasco I thought that the administrators would have any shame or self respect but unfortunately this is the reality. The other day they were showing in TV that the poor swimming atheletes taking part in the national games are practising their strokes on cement floors instead of a swimming pool. What a shame and embarassment as these things are unheard of here in the west. When will the politicians and administrators put the country first ahead of their own personal and petty interests.

Bangalore stadium is pretty decent and has one of the greenest grounds with great climate through the year.

And if a stadium is not ready what do you suppose you do? live on the past or build the future.

I dont see the communists looking at the future...so shift the matches and teach them a lesson. Our leaders are shameless and goondas.

Lost in Translation
by Anniyan Dharma on Jan 28, 2011 05:22 PM  | Hide replies

For a communist, loss of a cricket match is not a big thing.
So what if a few jobs and ads were lost by Calcutta ? There are unions to check up on who builds what with lowest efficiency anyway.

So what if a cricket match or two goes away. The whole state is not panicking that 97% of revenue goes to interest on debt payment, what will a measly match do for this waste-land?

So what if Tata's, Birla's and the whole band leave Bengal. They can still watch Satyajit Ray's movies, eat rasagoolas, and relax. Socialism does not need to show profits, only texts by Arundhathi Roy.

by the way ask Arundhathi Roy if a lost cricket match sucks. She will say capitalism is gone so good riddance.

Now day and night you breathe inefficiency and unionized stupidity, why curse when the sky finally falls on your heads.

"Into that heaven of freedom, my father, let this Bengal Awaken, at least now!!!!!!!!"

Rightly said....I agree in almost every word...We(bengali) have lost everything since past 3-4 decades just because of this attitude(s)...So nobody to blame...This is one of the return we are supposed to get for the laziness to work!!!
