How can a Top team win the WC ? ? A good settled batting side.Next,a lethal pace bowling and preferably a strong spin attack under Indian conditions where the WC is to be held. 3rd, a sharp fielding side. And finally a competent and cool captain who can maintain a healthy dressing room environment. Now, on the face of it the Indian side seems to be by and large meeting all these requisites. But look at how Dhoni marshalls his resources, in the recently concluded SA tour.He uses eight bowlers. He needs nothing less than seven and half batters, say eight batters including remaining three bowlers. In the WC Sachin will also be available for bowling.I don't know about Gambhir, so let us leave him out. That leaves Dhoni with nine bowlers. Can any team that uses eight batters and nine bowlers be called as a Top team in the first place ? And can any side with such team combination ever win the WC ? This is not to undermine utility of all rounders and part timers. But over abuse of average all rounders will only produce mediocre result.

The description of a team is defined as the action personified for a tag that reflects what it is called a TEAM.

i think, this was the same case when india won 1983 world cup... Ravi Shastri batted at no 10 and alos at No 2 positions... tht team was filled with so called people who could both bat and bowl... so i dont see how this current team will produce the result ur expecting....
