It was a stupid decision to host world cup matches at the eden gardens after the disruption held in 1996 at semis. We all know that how slow kolkata people are. Forget WC. It will not be ready within a year. This I can say because my office is very close to EG and I pass everyday in front of it. Looking at it it looks it will still need at least 8-10 month to complete the works. Even the newly installed flood lights many of the bulbs are not working. It shame on Kolkata, shame on CAB, Shame on Dalmiya, Shame on BCCI, Shame on India.
When the CWG world cup was slightly behind schedule there was such a hue and cry. In fact those stadiums were world class. Now a match is re-scheduled and there is not even a whisper. Amazing...Is this due to the money power of BCCI in the media.

They had 3 backup stadiums ready for such case! though it is a setback as it creates a news anyway, still it's not as bad as CWG. We couldn't have a backup Games village after all. :)

The scale of the Cricket world cup is miniscule when compared to the CWG: in terms of participants, different types of stadiums required and sheer logistics. Still these guys have made a mess. So it proves even our " private sector" ( BCCI) is equally inefficient.

Very simple: Its Jaggu-dada's revenge on BCCI; very unfortunate that personal issue became more important than national pride.
