I dont understand why they would swap matches with other venues. If they are not able to host the match on Feb 27th, how can they be prepared to host on March 6th or 9th when the other matches are scheduled ? I think CAB doesnt deserve any of the World Cup matches just for the fact that they have been so lazy and undisciplined.

Its a real shame as even after sufficient time, the venue could not be done up properly. this was the case even during IPL-3 tournament, did we not see then on TV, the stadium half done and work was on? Inefficient and incompetent people have brought shame to our nation. Wonder why in the first place did they gave the match to this venue when it was not showing a semblance of responsibility earlier during IPL-3?

Ever since Shashank Manohar and Sharad Pawar have taken over, there is a lot of anti-Kolkata things going around in BCCI. Kolkata has hardly hosted any test/ODI in the last 2 years. So the ploy may be slow things down and push the blame on CAB. The option coming out would always be Chennai/Bangalore and Bangalore is being tipped to replace it. Incidentally Delhi is also one of the option but it would finally happen in Bangalore. India England is a key game for both and the winner will have a serious impact in reaching the next round. We need to have it in a place where Indian support is guaranteed. Kolkata would definitely provide more support than Bangalore.
Even if in 1 year C.A.B. cannot prepare a stadium than it is really shameful. After CWG scandals Cricket world cup could have been a better prepared event... but again a let down... No wonder outsiders say that "It is common since it is India"
Oops, another example of how poor and how far behind we are to the rest of the world – thanks to the power to be in India! We talk about the financial growth and how Indians are going to conquer the world but sadly another example of how bad Indians are in organising the events, which we had hoped would make India and its people proud. We are still reeling from the cock-up of the CWG in New Delhi. I remember reading somewhere that Indians resent the accusation by the Rest of the World of being undisciplined, very poor in project management, very poor in communal hygiene and being very lazy. So, now those, who resent such accusations, ought to wonder why do they such things about India? I have never met an Indian who takes pride in what he has done for India but have met hundreds, if not thousands, who take pride in their own personal gains and achievements. Rather selfish lot we Indians are. Wouldn’t you agree? I wonder if Mr Dalmiya and BCCI cronies are ashamed as we are?
Any way they are not interested in watching India playing as Ganguly is not playing in the team. I remember the match in Eden during Chappel's rule in which Ganguly was not taken, the whole stadium was hooting against Indian team and was supporting the opposite team as if the match was not played in India...very much Shameful..

It was once a great stadium, now no more. It has lost its charm and has become a pawn in political games

The reason was they were against Chappell, and we know what havoc did the time bring to Indian cricket when Chappell was the coach and Dravid the captain.
