Wh is this Dey
by william lobo on Jan 28, 2011 09:14 AM

Mr.Dey is supposed to have said that even 1 day before match many things will be remaining to be done. Maybe he was thinking of his marriage hall where probably everything is last minute affair.
This is world cup and besides the CWG row should have given them all a lesson to learn.

Dalmiya utter useless
by william lobo on Jan 28, 2011 09:09 AM

See this Dalmiya chap is trying to justify by quoting past successes. He should know that every day life is a challenge. He should prove his worth today. It is generally the behind the scenes people who are the real achievers and their names never come up. Now it must the same case but useless people kept in charge and mostly all must be corrupt contractors who have been give the contract this time. All want to make a fast buck.

What were ICC and BCCI bosses doing last year.
by william lobo on Jan 28, 2011 09:05 AM

Why is the media silent over this issue. Just like CWG they should have raked up this issue last year October 2010 when the dead line was not achieved. Why was media sleeping in this case??

I was passing BY E.G yesterday & saw two mobile cranes stationed there for ereting the truss of the roof structure. How one can claim the readiness when some structures are still at ground level opposite Mohonbagan Ground??

Hyderabad - No World Cup matches
by Ganesh R on Jan 25, 2011 08:41 AM  | Hide replies

The magnificent Rajiv Gandhi Internaional Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad can easily be counted amongst India's Top 5 cricketing venues of modern day with state of the art facilities, 4-tier stands, very high class dressing rooms for the players and excellent facilities for commentators with AC boxes and crystal clear, 6 masted floodlights strategically placed so as to bathe the ground evenly in light for day n night matches without throwing the shadows of players on the field. An unmatcked view from the 3rd and 4th floor / tier stands.

Because of the non unity between people in the state in that area of India, Hyderabad the wonderful Pearl city of India is losing its global brand name , losing all its jobs and its World cup matches to other cities in India. What a shame. When will people learn ?

While cities like Kolkata and Chennai and Mumbai are putting so much of work in renovating old stadia, Hyderabad which already has a World Class NEW ground and stadium, which has just hosted some 5 ODIs and a few IPL matches till date is not getting a single World Cup match to host. Its a shame. Really !
Oh by the way the stadium doesn't have a roof, people always get fried in hot sun there after paying huge money for tickets. Dunno if thats the reason why ICC didnt allot Hyderabad a match or the ongoing dispute between people there. Hyderabad's Lal Bahadur Stadium has hosted World Cup matches earlier when it was held in subcontinent too. Now our city is losing out. So sad.

that's true..HYBD is a beautiful city, no doubt, and your information about the RGICS is really nice...it's unfortuate that the city is not witnessing the WC live matches...as fas as I know...the venues are decided at least 6 months before and any lacking preparations will be undertaken in these 6 months...it's really strange that RGICS has no deficits, as per you, except the roof, which is not the committees concern, however, but maybe the security reasons would have been one of the strongest points, for not pickig up HYBD, I believe...

This is due to your own people playing so much of politics and creating tension in the region. Telengana is hot topic and now with YSR Reddys son in the fray; God bless his soul, no one is sure what will happen. Hence the organisers are playing safe and not giving any venue for Hyderabad.

With all the Unions in Waste Bengal it is surprising the stadium comes up at all. Maybe we should give up Eden Gardens, and tell the commies, to shut it or get to work. enough of red tape and lethargy. 97% of WB revenue goes to pay interest on debt. what happens when that crosses 100% mark. You default like mamata on railways.....

Then we dont have to worry about no gardens, Eden or Hell.
