I wonder whether you know cricket at all. To win a match, you need to bowl out opposition. Do you know that ??? West indies has the worst bowling attack in the world. They never had any chance of winning the world cup and its universally known fact.
Only chance they had is 1996 when ambrose and walsh and riche ric. and hooper are around. along with Lara. After that the entire team became the worst team in the world. How can Lara win a world cup.
ODI's is a team game and every one needs to contribute to it to win the WC. Ex: AUS - all round team, see they won 99, 2003 2007. Best Example.

u have camparing sachin with lara with good team & weak team .check w.i.& india test with other team playing. in aust.w.i.playing 5 test in series also india play 3 test sa same in england. so good chanse when u plyaing extra cricket same pitches.

If you ask sachin, who is great, he said LARA. He already said LARA. Just because he had some records, doesn't make him greatest. Brian Lara to me is the real GOD of Cricket. He is the only batsmen who gives real joy to spectators. Lot better in Class and style than Sachin.
Lara you are the Greatest batsmen. Just because sachin played more games, doesn't make him greater than you.

Dear, If West Indies had also support of corporate world or say had rich cricket board wherein players could have earned in huge numbers through advertising, then you would found Lara still playing. Its only Money which is making a few player prolong their career, remaining else is only an eye-wash
1. A true businessman- He plans number of game to play so that he can have time to come back in between series with an excuse of ill health and appear straight to work for advertisement. 2. Knows how to prolong his career 3. A true Government of India servant-retires only at the age of 60 yrs 4. A true leader-want to make sure that someone occupies his seat (perhaps arjun tendulkar) and then he can peacefully retire. 5. A true Indian- Like Gavaskar & Kapil who carried on just to make more records, he wants to carry on so that no one ever can break his record at least in the near re-birth of this universe

a true businessman just because he came back home due to injury--> then what about Ponting, Shewag, Gambhir, Flintoff, Bret Lee.. List go on... u won't blame them.. U know the reason Prolong career: What about Jay Surya, Lara and Ponting. A very few player can sustain at international level for a long period of time and only exceptional player can do that. Had he not been able to score it would have made sense to blame him. Still he is a run-machine. He is not arrogant but very shy and a true gentleman. Having said that, it does not make sense to portray him as “God of Cricket and blah blah shit”. These are some verbiage which some people have used to show their expectation from him to deliver. If team fails, people used blame him. It is not at all good to keep expectations so high and it’s not only cricket, it applies everywhere job, relationship, etc. Lara, Sachin both are really a gem of CRICKET. For world cup lets hope our team performs and then only we can win it.

Sachin's rise was at a time when the economy was opening up in India and Indian cricket was growing in financial clout. No doubt he is a gr8 cricketer and would be a long long time before world cricket gets a player like sachin again. But the fact that he plays for India atleast in the last 2-3 yrs is getting him more n more acolades since players know thats the easy route into the Indian media and a sureshot way to survive in India.
The fact that he is able to still have his focus and not get carried away is what sets him apart. On cricketing talent Lara may not be that behind, may be a tad better in playing marathon innings.
