His batting performance is absolutely not acceptable. He's being there only because he's a captain. Lucks favours him. If he starts losing the same, then his career will be a question mark.

I was a cricket fan in the 90s and all we got was disappointment from a team that looked invincible on paper. Most of it was due to poor strategy and captaincy. If the guy can win with his smarts instead of his bat so be it. Winning is all that matters.

abay ku Dhoni kay pichay paday ho he has 6 batsman and 4 bowlers to perform without pressure, he himself can focus of keeping n captaincy n take pressure otherwise 12th man ko captain banana padaygao

arun kumar what is your achivement in life ?
sitting outside & make comments ?
comment like a matured man, captains role in the game is most crucial. There were big names in indian team earlier but due to poor captancy india always use to get beeting.
God help this team led by MS Dhoni, we will praise him for his past but what about the present and the future. The south african tour his scores are not mentionable and God alone will help us in the world cup under his leadership. Like his Lays advrts some other country will take the world cup home leave us with some sad news and leave Dhoni all the money for doing such silly adverts and others.

God is always with Dhoni and he is conquering all frontiers so you can relaxe.

Sachin recommenmded the name of Dhoni for captaincy and believe me he knows better than you and me.
Re: Re: Re: Re: DHONI and the Indian Team
by Suzainne on Jan 19, 2011 03:34 PM
So Dhoni got captaincy only bcoz of Sachin. He didnt earn it himself. ok ok
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: DHONI and the Indian Team
by Anurag Rathore on Jan 19, 2011 03:44 PM
Selectors offered it to Sachin but he suggested Dhoni's name despite Sehwag and Yuvi like players presence. Which shows he also knows his leadership qualities. By the way first man who suggest Dhoni's name as future captain was G.Chappel.

yeah honey. But he demonstrated after he got it. Tough for you to digest ? Get over it. :)
Re: DHONI and the Indian Team

Really ?. The guy was the second highest scorer in both odi matches. Was the No 1 in terms of runs after 2 test matches. You need to get over your bias. You cant compare an opener with a guy who bats down the order in terms of centuries and averages. That is just pathetic knowledge. Dhoni is doing fine, eventhough he could do better.
Can a man fool 100 thousand Indians - Yes he can. Dhoni is fooling thousands of Indians who believe that he is a gift to Indian Cricket. He is a highly over rated cricketer and much less of a good human being. He is only interested in making news and money. God help the cricket team under his leadership. The World Cupl like he says in one of his advrts can surely belong to any other team but India.

so manohar, you dont make money and even the money you make is a 100% legit? Get a life. Stop hating people because they are more successful than you.
I know many Indians would not agree, but please go back in time and lets have Dhoni's scores and his averages for all to read. The man is full of gas and short of talent. He depends on Kohli, Raina and these days Pathan - what about himself. When will he deliver, besides making monies doing advertisments he has very little to offer to Indian Cricket.

Please check his contribution as batsman in 2nd ODI and Durban Test which India won in this tour.

what's the meaning of saving under pressure??? if harbajan didn't score in 2nd ODI whats the use of Dhoni's score whatsoever? So tell me who had the pressure more? Dhoni or harbajan?
No dont ask me "who told harbajan to hit 2 sixes? who asked Nehra to hit four?" and tell me its all becoz of Dhoni!!!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Indian Cricket and Dhoni
by Anurag Rathore on Jan 19, 2011 03:45 PM
Are you really talking about 2nd ODI where only Yuvi and Dhoni performed?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Indian Cricket and Dhoni
by Varun on Jan 20, 2011 09:45 AM
Suzainne, hrabhajan what ? What are you smoking hon ? You are confusing 3rd ODI to 2nd ODI. :))
Re: Re: Re: Indian Cricket and Dhoni
by Anurag Rathore on Jan 19, 2011 03:36 PM
Performing well doesn't mean to stay not out till end. Even a 30 runs can be more valuable than a 80 runs by knowing the situation and pitch condition.
Re: Indian Cricket and Dhoni
by Anurag Rathore on Jan 19, 2011 02:33 PM
He can fool indians but not the neutral players and analyst which are praising Dhoni for his leadership qualities.

Hey You only need to check his stats and average in batting.. I think till few months back he was no.1 in ranking.. also please check his average and mind you he comes at 6 or 7 at batting order
SA needed 39 from 18 overs with 6 wickets in Hand in 2nd ODI. They lost by 1 run India needed 39 from 10 overs with 3 wickets in hand (3 wickets include Nehra & Munaf!!). We won by 2 Wickets. Where is 'Captaincy' in these matches? Is that because of Smiths poor captaincy they lost? Or because of Dhonis good captaincy that we won?
Re: Tailenders
by Suzainne on Jan 19, 2011 01:13 PM
India won these two matches only becoz our taileners batted a bit well than SA's tail. No captaincy in these results.

I agree with Suzainne! it was the Yusuf Pathan's and Bhajji's presence of mind and nerves of steel that won the match for us. And yeah ofcourse the experience :)

Smith poor captaincy who took powerplay when RR was only 2 plus Dhoni good captaincy who made the most of it from this chance.
Dhoni himself have revealed that he had got the best team so far ... Nut like you need to see Ponting, once under his captaincy Aussies have won 16 test matches in row...and now suddenly he is struggling... If team is good...capatain has less to do..
Nobody is critisizing the Indian batting how they failed to achieve a small target. India won two games by lcuk only. If Pathan fails India lost the game definitely then only Indian Team could have face the comments on their batting talent. Actually we fail in both Batting and bowling. No doubt we have big batting line up with quality batsmen but the luck is not with our batsmen. And we have poor bowling attack but the luck is with our bowlers in last two games and thats the result of the last two games. We will not qualify even for quarter final in WC if we continue like this performance.
Re: The Luck is with Indian Team
by satar fatar on Jan 19, 2011 12:55 PM
Dhoni had born with all luck in his favour.. 1stT-20 world cup he gave bowling to bowler like Joginder Sharma who got out well settled Misbah...when match was totally in hands of pakistan....
Re: Re: The Luck is with Indian Team
by Abhijit on Jan 19, 2011 01:06 PM
Yes It is luck plus reckless batting by SA which gave 2nd ODI win and good batting by Pathan, Harbhajan & Zaheer at end
Re: Dhoni, the best captain ever
by Anurag Rathore on Jan 19, 2011 12:33 PM
India have lots of good ODI captains like Kapil, Azhar, Ganguly, Dravid and now Dhoni ahead of all of them. But captain real test is test format. Dhoni is in process to become all time best. Currently Ganguly is on top.

In the Second ODI, S. Africans required how much runs to win with how many wickets in hand?
Botha, Parnell, Steyn, Morkel, Tsosobe. 5 Players who cant bat well. Big tail for an ODI Team
Re: Re: Re: Re: Dhoni, the best captain ever

Kallis will provide balance for SA. However Srilanka and India are hot favourites.
Re: Re: Re: Dhoni, the best captain ever
by Anurag Rathore on Jan 19, 2011 12:46 PM
3 runs with 2 wickets in hand. Dhoni set yusuf to cover position from boundary and the next bowl Morkel caught by Yusuf. Trusting Munaf over other experienced bowlers was also in hand of captain.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Dhoni, the best captain ever
by Abhijit on Jan 19, 2011 12:53 PM
Sorry These things happens in all game. The same if happened to India, there is no excuse. Changing fielding position, bowler etc are not considered if you have 6 wickets to get just 39 from 18 overs. It is batting failure. Look at their tailenders performance in 2nd ODI and ours in 3rd ODI
Re: Re: Re: Re: Dhoni, the best captain ever

3 runs with 2 wickets??? india won the match bcoz of SA not becoz of Dhoni.
