is not the same as 5 years ago, now if you block his shots in circle and now a days he play more chiky shots and try to nudge the ball here and there. and if you block his shots, then because of injury or age it become very difficult for him to lift the ball or play powerful strokes. but still his experience helps him to find gaps.GM to all comrades
Many still go ga ga about Sachin. He was a gr8 player and is still a fine player but should not be there in first 11. There are many match winners in India superior than Sachin. His presence in the team is inspirational, but don't put him as a player, put him as coach/asst coach etc.

This TN player has caught the attention of many because of his carrom ball spinning. However selecting him only on the basis of bowling may prove disastrous in World cup. He is a rank bad fielder. No one with poor fielding should be selected for ODI. We have already terrible fielders such as Munaf and Zaheer in the team and if we add Ashwin Indian fielding may become worse. The zeal in which South Africans are fielding is an example for all teams.

He can't be a great player as his technique in batting does not make him a good opening batsman. He plays from the crease without footwork to pace bowlers and is always a candidate for LBW. Any onw with pace exceeding 135 kmh can remove him easily. Selectors ignoring a great opener like Wasim Jafer for Test is still a mystery!. He has proved his batsmanship in tests and continue to be in best form in domestic circuit.
