i think dada should learn his lessons from past experience i love him but i think he overestimates himself, wat was the need to increase his base price, srk has given indication to dada by not fixing him in d team and it was because of his high price demand.wats dis yaar if u want to play in mumbai take security frm raj thakrey and if u want to play in kolkota take dada.dada should recall his early retirment dat time also he was playing well but attitude matters.bye bye dada

by Partha Das on Jan 12, 2011 05:05 PM

Why are we getting so imotional on this. IPL is a bl--dy cricket TAMASHA and all participants are a bunch of jockers . The string is with the ringmaster ( the franchise owners ) . Ganguly's credetials a national player is well admired and be it should be. As also these seniors who had once made the nation proud should no how to say "good bye" in a dignified manner. This is for the sake of their self respect only.

Re: Bengali ways are funny
by Story editor on Jan 12, 2011 04:52 PM
In Bangalore no one will bother even if a girl is raped, beaten, abused...try doing that in Kolkata!

All cities and people have their pros and cons and Bengalis have theirs and overall this "funny" style has produced some real greats in the community...and don't forget you owe your freedom to Bengal to a large extent.

Coming to the topic of Ganguly only two points:-

1) Even Dravid can play T20, Ganguly can set thames on fire!

2) IPL is business so purely from buisness Dada has to be in KKR team else WE WILL ENSURE EMPTY STANDS IN EDEN!

Let's see how they make money from the 8-9 matches there!

By the way who got raped u or ur ...? stop such non-sense and talk more sensibly. IPL it's money game..No one simply puts millions of $ on SG...just like that. If you were the owner u wouldn't have dared to take him even if he is for free. LOL

Bengal had many good players, all were badly targeted by BCCI then.Sourav cut through and proved the mettle. Now every one after him to show him down in other way. This is all northies mentality.

Go get a life. If you people treat Ganguly as a normal player, this would not have happened. You treat him like a god and react to any decision about him with this nonsense, who would want to keep him in the team?

The problem when a player becomes bigger than the team...
by Junior Shelly on Jan 12, 2011 04:20 PM  | Hide replies

In Kolkata, Ganguly is god... But the reality is that all of India's Famous Foursome have passed their use-by date and Ganguly along with Laxman is the most struggling among the four in the T20 format. It is a fact that Ganguly has scored runs, but at what strike rate?? Strike rate is the most important factor in T20, not averege. Plus, his fielding is pathetic. He was not at all athletic even in his prime. It is a sad sight to see him chase a ball to the boundary..

DADA is not God in Kolkata only.He has made difference in Cricket in India as Kapil had made earlier, not as an individual player only but by leading the team to win some big matches abroad and develop many players by motivating them.Even wasim akram was suprised why he was in IPL4.But I do not dispute on what franchise did because they also hv their reasons. But KKR certainly is cheat as said by great man BST.

Dear Arnab,
Calculate the game total with this strike rate 118%, it will be 140 an ining total in 20 overs.
It is a poor score.

118% strike rate is not an excelent strike rate, but still this is not a bad one as indicated by you! I you have any idea of the game, you must know that there are other things called no ball, wide ball, leg bye, bye. and if all the players have strike rate close to 118%, the team total will be in the range of 150-160 when you account for the extra runs!

118% (if he has) is a poor strike rate in T20 especially by a top order batsman.
It must be 150%.

Correct your record, he was leading run scorers for KKR not IPL and KKR was on the bottom of the table.

i think u all are not keen thinker.Ganguly was 4th highest run getter in IPL3, highest in KKR team and had excellent fielding with some great catching. His team had let him down. But being 4th run highest RG against those players who reached upto finals, obviously others played more matches.Pl hv some heart for the greatest captain, jisne soye sher ko jagaya

No Indian Coach in IPL
by amitabh singh on Jan 12, 2011 04:02 PM  | Hide replies

The best cricket playing nation doesnt have any indian coah in IPL. Ganguly was 2nd highest scorer in IPL and kumble was most economical bowler.
Both snubbed by their Franchise.
Warne economy was more than 8.oo in last IPL and gilchirst average was less than 15. Both got handsome money and made captains.
we indian dont respect indian, what can we expect from others.
