Dada's plight
by SUBROTO RAY on Jan 12, 2011 08:43 AM  | Hide replies

Some of the articles written by the sports Journalists make very interesting reading. One of them wrote how after the auction dada would be laughing his way to the bank and how his fan club would be supporting whichever club he is playing for. Now the same fella writes xyz are talking of boycotting kkr matches and also Sharukh's movies. Dear sports journalist write something sensible and don't bring in gossip in sports columns. If you were following dada so closely I was expecting you to write how dada is now going crying to the loo. Perhaps you felt ashamed to write that. And yes I have stopped reading your columns.

IPL Best thing happened to India
by super hero on Jan 11, 2011 10:38 PM

When a cricket series happens, all the money goes to the host country.
So every cricket board is begging India to come play in their country.
They will reciprocate by playing more matches in India.
India bailed out New Zealand and Sri Lanka boards out of debt with just one tour.
So in essence the money is coming from India and is being split even bewteen India and
other countries. So BCCI, came up with IPL to solely capitalize on the cricket craze of billion ppl.
So if IPL grew and played for 6 months, all the Indian 'Cricket Money' stays in India.
This will surely affect the meaningless short ODI's series' and other cricket boards.
But we wont be at loss. Last year BCCI split the IPL income 25 cr each to 25 state boards.
Expect it to double this year.Double it again if u add the income from other matches and Champions league.
Where do u think the money is going? For building infrastructre and to the players.

We are crying about one Sonia about being a foreigner as a party president. Look arround the world specially in north American countries as USA and Canada. We have Senators, Governers ( Bobby Jindal) and MPs (Ruby Dalla, Gurbax malli, DK Shori, Ujjal Dosanjh served as premier of BC (Canada) and many other I may have not known. Sure they can become Captains in KFC Bash 20-20 if their is any money involved. These players dont need to go play in county cricket or shefield shields. When their was no money in Indian cricket Indians were hot comodity in county cricket. It is our own corporate greed we can not blame the other countries for not having our own player captains. BTW in the end we are less susseptable to foreigners than others. We dont even like people from the other stats forget about having them as our premiers and senators.

Punjab team is superflop, why to have foreign captain for INDIAN premier league. Just like there is restriction on number of foreign players in playing XI, captain should from India only.

Aussies must be laughing to get captaincy roles in IPL.

They miscalculated their numbers big time. I dont see any balance in the team. Unless they are counting on uncapped players.
