He is a great player and a world beater on his day. But the thing is that he is available for only 2 weeks of the tournament. That is why the investors did not want to waste their money on him. This is a business venture and they do not want to risk their money. They have learned from the past experiences.

its all about a state when you have very few to celebrate, you stick with whatever you have.
Australia has been walloped by England, three innings defeat; but IPL is full of unheard, unknown & uncapped Aussies, why? If they had so many talents, why were they not picked for their national teams? The answer is that FOOLISH IPL FRANCHISE OWNERS has appointed Aussie coaches, who let these unknown worthless players earn huge amount of Indian money, and take some kickbacks!!!!!! The Indian Government and the BCCI should investigate this. THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER

ROY:
a) We must blame YOU. Why didn't you stop the franchisees from appointing Aussie coaches?
b) Why are you worried about the franchisees losing their money? Looks like YOU have a kickback arranged in that process
c) I'd rather the GoI investigated the real SERIOUS MATTER of the tax payers' money being looted and shifted to Swiss banks.. 70 lakh crores at the last count.. instead of enabling kickbacks for you... ;-)

First of all, its none of your business which players a team buys. You are not the one paying for it. Second, this is T20 while the Ashes were a test series. Big difference.

Abhijit da, I do admire Sourav Ganguly. But understand that he is 'past' now. He is not meant for 20-20 cricket. He WAS a great player, but then so were Kapil Dev, Gavaskar etc. Should we take them in the team now ?
Ganguly should learn from Kumble and save his own prestige.
Sourav ultimately won. Against Australia. While th Aussies were No 1, they found hard to beat India under Sourav. He needled them and fought with courage against the No 1. Australians never liked him, as he was their nemesis. Thats the reason Australian coaches of IPL blackmailed the owners not to bid for Sourav. Why are we obsessed with Australian coaches? They are useless. Look at the Australian team now; 3 innings defeat in 5 matches!. They were No 1 because of 4 great players-Shane Warne, Glen Mcgrath, Mathew Hayden And Adam Gilchrist. None of the successful teams in WORLD CRICKET have Australian coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But IPL owners are obsessed with Australians. RIDICULOUS ISN'T IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello, why are you so worried about what franchises do. Its their money and they are entitled to do what they want. If you are so caring for your Dada, why don't you collect money among your other Bengalis and hand it over to dada ?

Dude, what's with this "bengali" tag? Can you dispute the contribution of Sourav in Indian cricket. did you forget he had the balls to take over the captaincy when the cricket world was rocked by betting. Is there a doubt about his contribution or his abilities? Are you blind to not notice that whenever he was given the cold shoulder, he has come back time and again to prove critics wrong? What has he done that his own countrymates are so much against him? Can you tell that you sulked when he hit those huge sixes? What's with this ego? Stop being regional and appreciate someone for his achievements.

Some part of Indian dont wnat to fight for is right, wants to do buutering...Sourav never did that, thats why people think sourav has ego. nevermind, Jodi to dak sune keu na ashe tobe ekla cholo re.
You were more keen on 20-20 rather than playing for WI which is much more than millions you get from IPL. When you represent the country talent matters when you play IPL marketing matters .When you play for the country you take pride when you play for IPL you just check whether the money is credited in to the bank. IPL is sham and a scam - so you make your decisions.
