Most of you had common sense to understand that IPL owners mean business and it is their money to make their investments in... I find the attitude of all KKR supporters esp the ones burning effigy and gralanding with chappals a bit too much for anybody to digest... I am a CSK fan and I can also complain that some good tamil players have been ignored by CSK onwers in the current team..esp L balaji is now off to KKR, it is impossible to think CSK without Muralidharan..and we have a sri lankan sinhalese in CSK now.. But are we complaining...hell no..I am more than happy to have good players from any country and we still love CSK for what it is and will support it...yes it is sad not to have murali and balaji but such is the decision of the CSK owners...we too can make a hue and cry about it...cmon KKR folks..grow up..Honestly you guys have a very good team this year. Infact CSK is a bit weak this year.
And finally dont be so fanatic about sports, movies and politics...all are for money!!!!

Chennai people calling Kolkatans fanatic! That's the joke of the century. Chennai has a great record of suicides of numerous fans every time a legendary Tamil actor passes away. And nobody is making hue & cry in Kolkata for purely sentimental reasons. Shahrukh has repeatedly proved himself anti Bengal and pro Pakistan (Pakis were not allowed in the auction this time). Muralidharan never played for India. And hats off to you to compare Balaji (he is also a Sourav protege) with the stature of Sourav Ganguly. Sourav is the 4th highest scorer (at a good strike rate) in IPL 3. What business sense does it make to buy Gautam Gambhir & Yousuf Pathan at such exorbitant prices? They will never be able to justify their price in terms of price:performance ratio. Shahrukh even ignored Wridhhiman Saha and Ashok Dinda to prove his anti Bengal attitude. If Ashok Dinda can be bought by Delhi at such a good price why he was not retained? Bengal is the cradle of rationalism and rational mindset in India. There are enough reasons to do whatever is being done. The outrage and ill-feeling is there in other parts of India too and not only in Kolkata.

Let chennai comeout of prasing people like Karunanidhi and Jayalalita..then only they will start understanding passion for cricketer who has contributed to the national team... Comparing Balaji with Ganguly is pathetic..you can compare Rajneekanth with Ganguly..and think soem busineeman banned Ranjneekanth movies in Chennai.....

You don't understand the passion those people have for cricket and for Dada in particular. We in TamilNadu do not have such an icon. It is one thing to say that Mr.X went to other team , but is a diff, thing to say that he was not picked at all. And this to the greatest of our captains. C'mon u have got to emphathise with KKR fans

Idiot..why are u comparing Balaji and Ganguly ? As rightly asked by someone, will you compare Rajini with a comedian ?
Firstly, it is quite clear that there is a clear conspiracy against Ganguly in this Auction which could have been triggered by the BCCI (read Sarad Pawar) or it could have been a Shahrukh's drama.
The bottomline is , there is no way Saurav can be omitted from a team if performace is the criteria especially when there is so less supply of indian talent and still lots of teams have huge vacant spot to fill inthe required indian slots.

Senthil...involve in some sensible discussion or keep quiet..calling people names doesnt help your cause...I am just talking about cricket..if you bring rajni, jaya into picture then I can also bring in mamta,jyoti,somnath...et all and how communism has let bengal down in the last 2 decades...blah blah.. I am discussing cricket and this IPL episode and lets stick with that. And for all those folks who replied above, if you are still so concerned, please start your own team and support whomever you want... capitalism works this way and it is ironical that some people are just not getting it... Neways at the end of the day, KKR will make its money from TV and ad rights and not from stadium sales...please do your math..and even ganguly is better off with bigger role elsewhere.. Only you and I are wasting our time on this..entertainment and sports are for our time pass and it should not consume us so much to be so emotional about it..thats what I wanted to convey.... Finally hope KKR plays well to keep you all happy...while I hope CSK keeps up its winning streak..and meet you folks in the final

so Tethys sensible discussion means realizing that "Only you and I are wasting our time on this" but inviting others to "discussing cricket and this IPL" ....
Now lets' get into ur arithmetic which am sure translates emotions only into profit thru endorsement and stadium sales & TV rights....
the demonstration in Kolkata is just to channelise those emotions in right direction... i.e don't allow ur arithmetic to dishonour some legends who have contributed so much for the national pride.....
It is just not about Ganguly as some self proclaimed rationalist like you think... it is about the pride of a nation, a province, a state that is hurt and where it the right of those people to stand and protest against injustice... i shudder to think what wud have happened if we all become arithmetic in our approach rather than emotional when it comes to stand for national pride and honour. sometimes it pays dear to think from heart than ur heads.... try tht u vil understand wht i meant...

Shivsena chief Bal Thackeray have expressed his disappointment for Ganguly being ignored in IPL auction. He said traitor like SRK have betrayed this skillful KKR captain, just like when racecourse horse is shot dead when owner feels its of no use.
so much for removing lalit modi.. things have become even more murkier.. with undiclosed amts paid to retain sachin, dhoni etc..which obviously would be well over current top buys and budgets set by bcci..

They are yet to hire locals as per IPL rules. Dont get upset. Frankly Dravid is not a 20-20 guy. RR took him as a Captain. Not sure if Dravid can play for 3 years, when he will be reaching 40s.

IPL is no cricket. It is a circus and tamasha and rish man's time pass. It is just glamourised gully cricket. It is a sad reality though it was never intended to be. When money bags like Vijay Mallya, Nita Ambani, Shahrukh etc. become cricket pundits this is what you get to see. Anyway I agree with you in congratulating Abhimanyu. He was too promising and talented to be ignored by Mr. Money Bag.
