if we have a decent umpire in Aus, yes we can win Aussies in Aussy. At the moment SA is better team than Aus and we have almost won them in SA.

Mr Nithyanandam,

We, as a race, do not have the "killer instinct" which many of the other races possess. However, what we have been exhibiting, of late, is consistency and team-work. You are very likely to see that this very same England team, which "crushed" Australia in Australia, will perform extremely poorly in their next series. And I wish guys like you start appreciating Indian performances and achievements without bringing in the line of "all victories have been in the sub-continent"! Why should that take any credit away from our achievements? If your yardstick for team rating is performing consistently in "all parts of the world", to rate England, SA, Australia et al higher than us, they HAVE to demonstrate the ability to perform consistently well in the sub-continent too! Their performances in India have been VERY MISERABLE lately, as compared to our performances in those countries! So, till then, I would advise that you accept India as the No.1 team, and S*H*U*T U*P!!!!!!

*Get^^A^^Life*

Can India defeat Australia in Australia in a series?

South Africa did it two years back, England did it now. Can India also do it? As per me not for next 500 years atleast.

Nayak:

Sorry... by that definition even our South Africa win had umpires decision errors...

Umpires decisions always go against or for you, depending on the error... Even in Sydney we got two wrong decisions favouring us. So please don't breach that topic...

Also, kindly tell me what happened in the thrashing we received in Melbourne? No stats for that, right? Coz there was no Bhajji controversy... the same Bucknor officiated there and we were happy with that...
When we got decisions against us we got him kicked out saying that he has always been against India...
So let's not open that discussion, as we've already said enough against Smith on these very forums...

Current Indian team no match for Australia between 1996 to 2006
by vivek sharma on Jan 07, 2011 11:23 AM  | Hide replies

The current Indian team is no match for Australian team between 1996 and 2006 which was totally dominant. India may be number 1 but there are several weaknesses in the team. We do not have bowlers like Mcgrawth and Warne. ICC ranking looks flawed.India with its current capabilities should be number 5 or 6 team in the world.

U have to be naive to call sreesanth a joker ..... his bowling in the 1st innings was just spectacular.... He just needs to calm down and keep self motivating himself and i tell u he's the next glenn mcgrath.....

thats too high to call sree as mcgrath. Yep in this tournament, Sree was the best bowler but he needs to be consistent and above all have to perform well in WC.

India has never defeated Australia in a series in Australia

India is yet to beat Australia in a series in Australia. This shows the difference between India and England. England is clearly number one.

We played them 2 years back and lost. We have played in the past many times with different kind of teams. England beat Australia in 1986-87, even then we lost. We cannot beat Australia in Australia for next 500 years.

The team 2 years back was totally different from the one now...
Even England got whitewashed 5-0 in 2006.
That doesn't mean it took them 500 years to win in Australia... :)

Hats off to you Mr. Strauss!

It's about time the tables have turned. A stone for a stone and an eye for an eye! The Oz used to comment that the English have low playing standards. Now they need Shane Warne to spoon feed them!

The Arrogant Aussies used legends McGrath, Warne and Gilchrist to make their name in fame. Even a new captain will find it difficult to fill the void where you have a new kangaroos except Watson.

COMMENTS ARE WELCOME BUT NO OFFENSE PLEASE!
