in 2008 we would have def won 2-1 when steve buckmor became their member of the side... remember that time they had gilchrist, hayden and symonds in the team despite mcgrath and warne not being there

Emphatic!
by Against Psuedos on Jan 07, 2011 12:09 PM

3 innings defeats in 5 tests.WOW!An emphatic win if there ever was one.And nobody's shedding tears for Ricky Ponting and his buncha sourpuss'.Cry me a river Ricky. You forgot the edict-'Be good to people on your way up cos they're the same people you're gonna meet on your way down'.Hope your not surprised your own people are baying for your blood now. It's just sad that your finger prevented you from being a part of the massacre at Sydney.I see you have a bunch of groupies employed 24/7 to defend your guys on Rediff, but it's just fun rubbing it in.Now wait for the groupie to bring India into the picture.JUst yday he was crying hoarse that I was bringin irrelevent things into the mix,but a look at the posts here show he's been busy since morning doing the very same.Aussie rules dont apply to Aussies I guess.

hats off straussey

when that time comes you will retire as england's most successfull cricket captain.
the way you give post match interviews are also very honest and good.
here in india we have a dumb captain, dhoni, whose interviews are like a baniya who repeats the same same shit. sometimes he does not even attent post match conferences.
hats off to u strauss.
2011 cricket world cup- my heart says india but my mind says england. this time england will win the world cup.

Nithyanandam...post match press conferences are not the best way to judge a captain in case you didn't know.Strauss is a very good captain,I agree...but that's more to do with his performance and leadership on the field. And by that yardstick Dhoni has been quite a good captain.

SO india can have problems.

India has edge in batting.. but bowling is big concern.

Austraila Trounced
by venkatram vishwanath on Jan 07, 2011 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

The fact of the matter is that every captain is as good as the team,Australia dominated world cricket for 15yrs.with All time Greats like the Waugh Brothers,Mathew Hayden,Glenn Mcgrath,Shane Warne,Adam Gilchrist ,Damien Fleming,Brett LEE,now that all of them have bben replaced by ROOKIES and Ricky Ponting on the wrong side of his 30s and a resurgent ,tough talented and professional ENGLAND it had to go this way.Anyways this ENGLISH SIDE can give INDIA and S.Africa a run for their money

Dhar:

Good analysis... though we had a slightly tougher time than Zimbabwe at our own home ground at Mohali... :)

But we can always learn some tricks from Zimbabwe and improve nevertheless... what? :)

YeaH,I'd say that would be the best thing to do.And till then I think it would be better to avoid wisecracks about India..these things have a way of coming back and biting you on your backside, like our Aussie groupie is finding out the hard way now. What say,Groupie?
