team india
by raja kumar on Jan 06, 2011 11:28 AM  | Hide replies

when india started the tour nobody expected it to win a test there. Now we have a chance of scoring a memorable series win in SA.but so many ifs and buts are there. For a win Shevag should bat with some sense in his usual style. If the openers lasted for more than an hour for gods sake dravid should not come in one down position but it should be either doni or bhaji.

Chasing 340 on South Africa is very very less. I am not saying impossible, but kallis took the game away from Indians. Sehwag is struggling big time. All others are not fast scorers. Chances are very less for India to win series, and because of pressure there is high probability of India loosing this game.

WHO IS THE GOD FATHER
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Jan 06, 2011 11:04 AM

Ishant is such useless most of the time in the last few matches -wonder who is the god father - he is another Agarkar - these guys can lose a match on threir own. He either bowls on the pads or outside so the batsmen if chooses to leave has no problem . In the tight situations the fundamental rule os bottle up the runs.SA batasmen were taking singles for the asking .No attampt was made to bottle up the same .You carry on tours so many guys who are injured or prone to injuries - at times we are forced to question the genuineness of these .It was a horror movie watching the match .It is not losing as I always feel - some team has to lose - but losing after a fight is more honorable. This team will be humiliated in England conditions.

Indian bowlers were not bowling good. even not in line and length...Now when see South african bowlers you will find that all balls are wicket taking delivery..Styn will be more destructive i predicts...

has bhajji become official spokesman
by krishna v on Jan 06, 2011 10:49 AM  | Hide replies

why does he have to talk about almost everything, everyday..or is he the captain ? The way dhoni came down on sreesanth was in poor taste, now this. you dont treat a player who gives his all like this. extremely poor. indian team media handling skills have been absolutely pathetic.starting from captain.there doesnt seem any control..everyone talks everything.

Who's who of test cricket III
by sanjay on Jan 06, 2011 10:41 AM

What we have and we dont..

Highest scores of Indian batsman in fourth innings
on non subcontinental pitches in won or drawn match
( Knocks above 50)

Laxman one knock only
63 Warner Park, west indies

Sehwag one knock only
65 Warner Park, west indies

Sachin one knock only
119* England Manchester

Dravid five knocks
103* New Zealand Hamilton
87 vs South Africa other important knock

Dhoni one knock only
76* England Lord's

Gambhir nil

and bowlers ? we have seen yesterday

Interestingly
Kallis 101 against Australia in Melbourne in a drawn match

Bowlers do win test matches
and we even struggle to take 20 wickets...

Tendulkar century a bad omen
by Ranjit Tiwary on Jan 06, 2011 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

Read my earlier message... I had predicted that since Tendu has hit a century we are not going to win.. Its a draw or we lose..... We can only win if Tendu scores a blob , Viru or Laxman scores a big one...Many will not like to read this but Tendu century is always a bad omen

Sachins 100s Test Stats: for 41 ceturies ,

100’s in Tests India won: 15
100’s in Tests India Lost: 9
100’s in Test Drawn: 17
CRICKET IS A TEAM GAME WITH 11 PLAYERS... RIGHT? but 9 times... his mistake?

really, see statistics of sachin. u felt that 51 centuries india lost. ranjit first learn cricket first. test winnings mostly depends on bowlers and first innings score of the team

the reason is when others score..they rotate strike etc. when sachin scores..he only scores through boundaries. compare his innings with kallis..kallis rotated strike where as sachin scored mostly in boundaries..there is no team work involved.hence you see other batsman not able to settle in completely.
