ya i think so because the batesman name brendon taylor and many more from bangladesh had done very well in recent past and don"t forget ,two new team has been added ,so there will be crisis for players.

You have mistaken - they are there for the market image - not really expected to do too much .what they give to the team will be bonus .It is nothing but marketing gimmik.

he must have said he will be available if someone buys him for that amount ...that is simple......one has to agree to play at 20K.......now it depends whether anyone buys him at that price or not

you are right. But then, Yardy is not a bad bet at 200k. At 400k, especially as a overseas player....let's see!

He's dam good for T20, watched him off late....and price is good. But "Foreigner" is problem
one has heard of cattle being auctioned depending on the quantum of milk or meat that one can expect from them; this seems to be similar to that; is cricket still a game or a dirty gambling stunt?
Some of the players in the auction are over aged and worn out players. Symonds, Gilchrist from Australia, Collingwood from England, Dravid, Sachin, Ganguly Laxman from India are very seniors who have played enough cricket in their career. I don't think they have any financial problem as they have earned enough from the Game till now. It is better they quit from IPL to make it more youth oriented tournament. It was an eyesore to see Dravid Ganguly and Laxman struggling in past seasons of IPL. In their own interest all these should retire from all form of cricket and concentrate on development of game like Jumbo who set an exellent example for greedy players

Gilchrist, Ganguly, Sachin and Symonds played reasonably well. they were better than quite a few others. In fact the major disappointment last IPL were Gambhir, Kohli, Sehwag and Youvraj.

I am a big fan of Dravid.Even I suggest that Dravid and Sachin should not play IPL and spoil their names.

they are only for marketing purpose, and i stil believe sachin can play any format of game.

well said.. then dont forget the bengal super hero ganguly dada... he is just making a mockery of himself playing in the ipl, which is just not suiting him. similarly sachin will make a example of himself and next time he wont be retained by their franchesee... just like kumble. only humiliation will teach them a lesson and no more pampering

Appreciate the point you make about ganguly. What more do they need? They made enough money doing ads and playing for more than 15 yrs, still they want the ipl limelight/money, which is really pathetic.
Except Tendulkar most of the Indian players were overpriced for auction. Zahir Khan, Saurav Gangully, Munaf Patel, Harbhajan Singh,Laxman etc are unfit to play in 20-20 format because of their very poor fielding which is the foremost important for a player in that categoy.
