The first slide says Sachin is at #10, while the third slide says Gambir is #10. WHich one is correct...As usual Rediff writes dont know what they are writing
Frankly I find trying to rank Sachin as laughable. He is beyond all rankings and up and down scales now. In a rarified zone by himself. Anyone who saw the way he controlled and executed his innings vs England will concur that it was an artisan building a classic masterpiece (And do did Strauss). Trying to rank Sachin is childish. Those two consecutive sixes of Swann...breathtaking.

His runrate in that innings caused Indias downfall. Compare with other contributors in that match you would know the truth. Constructing innings for onself is onething, driving the team to victory is another. I wonder why people dont see this in correct light.
We keep blaming our "weak bowling". In fact on Sunday the "weak batting" let us down. Bowlers did well to control England to 338 on a 370 run pitch. Our batters fell short of this par score on a placid wicket.
Please players play for your country - not for yourself. You would sure win the cup FOR INDIA (not for any joker in the team).

Sakar Panch:
;-)... Sachin's "run rate" caused India's downfall, whereas Gambhir had all but ensured that he was driving them to victory with his 61 ball "fastest half century in World Cup history"... :)
BTW, if you feel England's batting is supposed to be stronger than India, you can applaud our bowling the next time we meet Kenya and "restrict" them to 250 odd like we did restrict Bangladesh to 280 (and moreover got them all out within 30 overs - if you'd like to claim that too).. :)
But the last line of your comment really gave away your true intentions... didn't it? :)

Sakar panch, The next game after we "restricted" bangla to 290 runs,Ireland "gave away" 205 runs to the same bangla team. Do you want any more proof for the " strong bowling attack" of the indians? Now will you even say the match lost(tied) due to sachin? How sarcasstic are people about sachin?

TenduJhooth:
;-)... Matches are definitely won by "strike rates"... but unfortunately they need to come from Bowlers... (balls per wicket)... :)
If Gambhir's 61 ball 51 or Yuvi's 50 ball 58 was "better strike rate" and "match winning" efforts, then I'm afraid you'll have to rethink about your resolve to start learning kirkat... :)

Indian team can experiment and work out on the team composition in these preliminary matches.
Aus, Pak, SL, NZ will reach QF from Pool A Ind, SA, Eng, WI will reach QF from Pool B, although BD cannot be ruled out totally and can pose a threat to Eng or WI.
It all gets down the QF, SF and Final and to the team that can win 3 matches consecutively.

what the hell is wrong in his statement? You want India to win the Cup or are you more keen in Sachin making runs and consequently more money?

Sakar Panch:
If you are keen that Indian batsmen should fail miserably in the World Cup, I will support you only on the condition that you at least allow our bowlers to make some records like Roach... :)
Otherwise it will only help Aussies to retain their world cup... Agreed? :)

I am keen on Sachin's record. Please understand that whatever Sachin is doing at last its going to bloody Indian team. Mind it. Because of the lack of bowling in Bangalore India wasted one point.
Please tell me still how many runs u r expecting from the master blaster.

Well said... our batters should be careful to avoid scoring runs, and bowlers should be careful to continue the good work they are already doing lest they took accidental wickets and somehow managed to get onto the ranking list... coz THAT would seriously hamper the achar of World Cup... :)
