KEEP ALL OPTIONS OPEN ON PLAYING XI COMBINATION
by damodaran mohan on Mar 01, 2011 07:00 PM

If India can't defend a total of 340, then how are they going to defend a lesser total of say around 250 ?First,Indian batting slumped towards the end mainly because Yuvi couldn't capitalise on the batting PP.It seems it is better to delay the BPP till end because even the English blundered in similar fashion. Yuvi's form is a concern as his fluency has not returned. Next, although fielding was not that bad but the fielders will have to 'attack' the ball and prevent that 'extra' run. India’s opening bowling spell looks very ordinary. May be Dhoni should at least try to slow down the proceedings by introducing Bhajii/spin in the very 2nd over onwards for two three overs that would disturb batting rhythm. Also, Dhoni has to set more attacking field setting in the middle overs. Bowling combination is going to be crucial and I wonder whether Dhoni should consider even playing five bowlers for flat tracks !Due to somewhat weaker bowling combo, Dhoni will have to get the right playing XI in the Knock -out stages , otherwise, it is going to be OK-TATA for the India side.

TRUTH

india hasnt learnt any lesson from the near debacle due to poor bowling...Bangaldesh nearly scored 300 against us and england almost chased down our 338...
if india fails to amend its bowling department..it will surely get knocked out in Quaters...quaters we are sure to clash with Oz or Pak...assuming gonna loose SA tie(the way we are going we will)..

DHONI-MANIPULATOR-INDIA'S NEMESIS:
by Srinivasan Renganathan on Feb 28, 2011 10:00 PM

Dhoni is a spent force in Indian cricket. But, only due to his luck factor and a comparative better team than in the past, he is sticking to the chair. His contribution is almost nil or even negative in the past two years. He is now more egoistic & sees that the current in-form players like Raina or Kolhi gets chopped or their batting order shuffled in every second match. He also dosent like Yusuf Pathan to get more opportunities ahead of his friend Yuvraj. Unless he gets injured & either Parthiv Patel of Uthappa replaces him, it is tough times for Indian cricket. His foolish tactics & blunders in the past two years have cost Indian drawing or loosing many easy matches.
Unless he gets rid of Yuvraj Singh, Piyush Chawla, it will be very difficult for India to perform well in this world cup.

Poor captaincy and appealing
by kranthi kiran on Feb 28, 2011 09:33 PM

Indian team will have to improve their appealing.

1. Two clear nicks of andrew strauss that Indian team din't appeal for.
2. Even the LBW of Ian Bell, Indian team dint appeal with full conviction. Infact dhoni went for a referral only after yuvraj insisted. People are blaming the umpires, but if the players had appealed with full conviction the situation wouldn't have arised.
Agreed that dhoni is captain cool, but a wicket keeper should be a person which should get excited at every little chance.

3. Why do we need so many batsmen ? Quality batsman like Virat Kohli is wasted because he comes in at a time when he's are expected to go from the first ball. Any tailender can do that job equally well. If you want a well balanced team, we need one more full time bowler.

And if at all you load yourself with batsmen, for lack of options, then the better strategy is to chase if you win the toss, because atleast the batsmen will have a clue as to what is expected from them.

Ind-Eng match

After watching the match we can conclude India does not deserve to be champion. Lets be fair. One and only strength for us is batting. That too if momentum is set in the rest develop complecency. No bowling (even a club will have better attack) No fielding (excepting one or two players).. only on the strength of batting can we win the cup.
