12:51 PM ICC to act on Ponting's TV smash episode: Just in: The ICC will decide on Australian skipper Ricky Ponting today after it received an official complaint from the GCA. This is what happened yesterday.
Ponting smashed a LCD television set in the team's dressing room, apparently in a fit of anger, after he got run out against Zimbabwe, sources in the Gujarat Cricket Association said yesterday.
The incident took place immediately after Ponting was run out on 28 on Monday by a direct hit from Chris Mpofu in the Group A clash between Australia and Zimbabwe. GCA said that they had informed the Australian cricket authorities about the incident.

VP:
GCA Statement: "Ponting did throw his gloves at the television. You can't see any damage from outside but when you switch it on, there is no picture on three-fourth of the screen.
"We had to replace the television set."
Australian Manager: "Ricky threw his box (groin protector) into his bag and it flew up into a TV set" "It wasn't smashed. There was a small blackout on one corner of the screen. It was still working when (it was) replaced."
Let's wait and watch what the verdict is, how much of it is media hype and how much will Ponting be fined... Of course if ICC hands him anything less than 25 match ban (the popular demand of course is for a life ban); we will revert back to the Racism card... :)
