BCCI (A Trap to win the World Cup)
by MeetFireWithFire on Feb 22, 2011 11:28 PM

Be it the CWG or take it to this ICC world cup, India has always been in the news for stamping their supremacy as "POOR ORGANIZERS".

What is home advantage? Here is the thing: the overseas (ENG/AUS/SA) players who come from STATE_OF_THE_ART facilities cannot sustain the long tournament which could prove decisive for Team India.

Ponting with his blocked mind has already broken a TV set in the dressing room claiming it is not working. We all know the actual reasons of his act. Ponting cannot digest failure. Thinks he is immune to his acts. WELL, HE WILL NOT BE IMMUNE TO INDIAN STATE_OF_THE_ART FACILITIES!!!

Poor Ponting !
by Ian Chappell on Feb 22, 2011 08:56 PM  | Hide replies

If this is the case he should think twice. What a pathetic batting display by the team who has legacy of Stalwarts of batting ! If he think that his bowling is great after beating the batting who hasn't have much guts to face quick bowling, he should look at the two performances in warm up matches !
I think Ponting needs to calm down and he should accept the fact that his hey days is over. I think he still lives in daydream and always has a illusion that his best mates McGrath, Warnie and Gilly is still around him and he is still leading a invincible team.
His captaining abilities has been under scanner since he took over from Steve Waugh....every one though that he is good but he proved everyone wrong with his "heroics" is Ashes.
Coming to the world cup I think being not fully fit he needs to concentrate on VRS after the WC as even if he win here there is no guarantee for his place in one day team...although he has 1 or 2 years left in test but Australia needs some fresh thoughts and young blood !

Dude stop it.. ponting is playing his 5th world cup and has played finals in all the WC he has appeared. equation is their bowing is equal to indian batting and their batting is much stronger than indian bowling. he knows how to perform in a wc.u cant comment on one of the legends of cricket. If india wins against australia its a headline but if Oz wins against us ita common news. Oz r d most feared side in d world. India have never created fear in anytime. Also australia have never lost a match since super 6 stage of 1999 WC.

relax mate ... although every word you said is correct but don not be so harsh in criticism.
there is a chance some crazed Aussie fan is reading this after being drunk unable to deal with his pathetic loser life. your post may be the reason enough for him to end his life. Aussie have been mauled and humiliated in front of the whole world in recent ashes. your post may be reason for somebody meeting a tragedy.
In worse case scenario, ponting himself may be reading it and he may do the unthinkable. that will be a reason for Aussie team to return home immediately. All the audience who are waiting for Aussie whipping will be disappointed and i am sure you don't want that.

anyway mate...the fans are fed up with this team and 'Mr. Cricket' Mike Hussey episode has really make them feel that this is not the Aussie team they should cheer this time around ! I mean how can you sack the guy like Mike if he thinks he is fit !
I disagree with my bro's decision here to sack Mr. Cricket. I mean how can you sack a guy who has already faced a irony of fate depite being blessed with rare talent and commitment ! Playing for Autralia after turning 31 despite being one of the best and prolific batsman is a real irony of fate. Throughout his days with Western Australia he proved again and again that he is the best but....you know the story!

Pointing - A brilliant Cricketer - Excellent Batsman, Brilliant Fielder, Best ever captain and his world cup stats prove that as well and most importantly even after winning so many world-cup's they are not over-hyped, unlike India and i think this is ultimate thing about australian cricket team and they proved it that sport is bigger than any individual and winning and losing are the part of the game and in india we are making our cricketers like god, this is so disgusting.

Aussies should have done much much better
by Chetan Rao on Feb 22, 2011 03:19 PM  | Hide replies

Ponting spoke about India not performing better when they scored 374 and that they let Bangladesh scre 283. Aussies scored 267 which was very less compared to their potential against Zimbabwe...He should probably stop talking now about India and concentrate hard on his team now. This habit of his is very cheap and the whole world knows it.

Dude if you score 374 and then win by 89 runs... it tells you that your bowling attack is crap.... we should be lucky that we did not get out in 260-280 region otherwise Bangladesh would have taken us to the cleaners.... Ricky Ponting knowns what he needs to do with his team.....the point is does the Indian Team know what its bowling attack is like.... ponder upon that buddy and then post comments.

ZIMBABWAY MUST APPLY THEMSELVES ON BATTING
by damodaran mohan on Feb 22, 2011 01:53 PM

Perhaps some consolation for the aussies that they won after all.As far as Zimbabway, first they must believe in themselves and apply themselves on their batting. The Z-top order got out cheaply to some rash and impatient shots.Comparatively the lower order applied themselves better and the last four wickets added almost 70 runs !Bowling and fielding came off well to restrict the no.1 side on such a flat track. If only they can improve their batting by patiently spending more time on the wicket they can give a freight to the top teams in their pool.Best of luck.

Richest cricket board in the world has worst stadiums.
by Kiran Ranganathan on Feb 22, 2011 12:48 PM  | Hide replies

Look at stadiums in australia, england or even south africa. Then take a look at the picture above or any cricket stadium in India. We have the worst stadiums in the world with stinking facilities. No proper seats, toilets and mainly no proper stands. Look at Perth, WACA, or SCG and look at our fate match cancelled at Eden Gardens due to under preparations. This just SUCKS and all the leeches are busy sucking money in IPL.

True. Even stadiums in New Zealand are also delight for the eyes. West Indies, England too have beautiful grounds with landscapes, people enjoying watching matches.

But the stadiums of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are worst maintained, although they earn much more from a single match. The grounds are very filthy.

In India, Mohali and Motera are the only two good stadiums.

Well, may be India may not have the best of facilities. But you failed to recongize the trick here. From the BCCI's stand point, it would mean opponents have to go through the same STATE_OF_THE_ART (stinking) facilities which surely would hurt them. The overseas players may not sustain the 100 overs of stinking and may collapse with the notion that "they cannot stand INDIA". Hence the world cup is aleady scripted!!!

One more way of looking this: View as "INDIA has to benefit from home conditions". Create an atmosphere where the opponents cannot sustain the stinking facilities and they will fall like pins. The world cup is assured!!!
