Morning shows the day
by tota roy on Feb 22, 2011 12:19 PM  | Hide replies

Allow me to jog your collective memories. In the late 90's when Australia came down to Kolkata to play India at the Eden Gardens; a young Aussie was beaten up and thrown out of a night club for gross indecency towards women. He was punch drunk and when accosted by security guards, went on to abuse them and Indians in general. The, then Aussie team manager feighned ignorance, the next morning. That 'luminous' personality is today's Mr. Ricky Ponting, who went on to consistently exhibit such exemplary behaviour, over the years.

Adding to this piece of news, the same Mr Ricky Ponting was kicked out of a pub in Sydney's Kings Cross by his own people for misbehavior.

It is but natural that the team manager is unaware, for he too would have been fully drunk and creating nuisance elsewhere!

This is the difference between sachin stature & ponting's stature. When sachin got run out by sehwag in WC first match against bangladesh, he said it doesnt matter who performs and what matters is india victory and advised not to feel guilty.See this arrogant man breaking a sports academy property(LCD)for getting run out.How cheap his behaviour is?

Ponting should have been fined long back, even Ian Chappell said so in print and media.

yes you are rite aus chinti! to show your commitment you have to break LCDs etc. and damage properties of the visiting nation, during commonwealth also they were very committed so they threw washing machines and other equipments from thier floors. The more damage you do, the more committed your are.

Naach Na aawe aangan thedaa.....It indicates the arrogance of australian players, particularly ponting. You are not even fit to be a dhobi of Indian players. I don't think even a street player will agree with your view on Indian Players. Remember Money has come to them only after playing good cricket. Do you think you can become a cricketer by pumping in money. Most importantly I blame your parents for your present condition and making irresponsible statements calling cricketers "dhobies". Learn to respect your countrymen who bring name & fame by hard work. I demand an apology for your comments on Indian Cricket Players.

well, even their runouts weren't similar, it was good fielding lead to pointing, while for Sachin it was mistake of both batsman, and how Sachin reacted, its important to win, and not who made runs. so Pointing, its not how many runs you scored counts, its how you scored those.

Quite disgraceful is what I can say on the replies of viewers. Looks at it this way. Australia is the only team that play for their country. IF he smashed a LCD that shows how much he valued his wicket not that he wanted to do any damage.

Someone else's LCD TV needs to be smashed? Let him break his own bat. His bat sponsors will take care of the rest.

SHAMEFUL BEHAVIOUR OF PONTING
by patricia williams on Feb 22, 2011 12:12 PM

Ricky Ponting should be punished for smashing an LCD TV Set in the dressing room. Does a skipper behave in this fashion? If he had to score a century he would have jumped but being run out has made him resort to a cowardly reaction. Australians are always known to cry when they get out or lose a match. They are never sporting and Ricky Ponting's behaviour is a typical example of this. He should be removed as skipper immediately.
