Great Team this Time.....
by Kd Narang on Feb 18, 2011 10:10 AM  | Hide replies

World Cup Team for 2011 edition is strongest among ALL NINE World Cup Teams, there is NO appearent Weakness.
If Not this time ,then it will take another 28 Years to Win WC.
If medicore Team of 1983 Can win WC ,
and Semi-Strong Team in 2003 Can Reach Final, there is NO reason India Not reaching Final.
However SA Or Lanka may spoil India's Dream of lifting WC as Both are equally strong like India..
Best luck to MSD ,SRT and Co.

It's True, Even though India Team Appears to be unstoppable,
One Bad day on SemiFinal or Final Day Can spoil our dream.
Indian Team Must get blessings from Spiritual Guru to avoid any BAD LUCK or Black Magic etc.....

WC expectations
by Indranil Chowdhury on Feb 18, 2011 09:40 AM

South Africa favourites to win this WC. They have the 2 best bowlers in the world - Steyn and Morkel, the 2 best batsmen in the world - Hamla and Kallis. They are in consistent form too. Their major challenge will be to counter the spin of the sub-continent and not choking in crunch ties.

India is the second favorites. There are a few non-performers in the batting middle, but they have good spinners and a solid batting line-up on paper. The Sachin-Sehwag opening along with madmax Yusuf and spinners are their trumpcard. Their major vulnerability is pace and they need to have a strategy against the Bretts, Taits, Morkels and Akhtars.

Third favorites - Australia is the top ODI team in the world according to the rankings, but their performance does not reflect it. They need to pick themselves up in order to make anything out of this.

England and SL also have very good outfits but they dont have any chance if the other favorites dont perform. England is terribly susceptible to spin, and Sri Lanka bowlers get beaten up routinely.

world cup.....
by sudhir sood on Feb 18, 2011 06:26 AM  | Hide replies

out of around 150 countries in the world around 12 play this game with any real interest; quite a few others have been roped in to make a tournament possible; the game is colonial and requires hardly any individual skill; money concerns and betting concerns are the main fall out of this silly game; so much resource and mental energy is being totall wasted; our spectators are unemployed gonks who go for the mela atmosphere that we are able to generate at such events; play something sensible and stop this enormous waste.

Only Kapil retired as an honorable Captain
by k p on Feb 18, 2011 06:20 AM  | Hide replies

It is not because his team won the WC but because he focussed only on winning the WC, never engaged in politics!

Other Captains: Ravishastri, Azhar, Ganguly - all retired hurt! Because they were playing too much politics in the team!

I think Dhoni will find a place after Ganguly in the above list! Ppl love to hate Dhoni now for his politics!

kapil was charged for match fixing and he cried on BBC news when asked about match fixing.
dont make irresponsible comments.
also 1983 world cup was won by fluke. over confidence from w.indies.

I think Mizba Ul Haq will lift the W.C. this time.

Don't underestimate them if it's their day they can beat any team and any time.

Team Effort & Spirit Is Required
by SUDIPTO DASGUPTA on Feb 17, 2011 03:36 PM

When India won the World cup in 1983,Kapil was not a famous cricketer, but due to the entire team effort he became a good leader and eventually India won..So,India should have a positive attitude and team spirit should be high like 1983 & 2003.
