@ mohan iyar-Sachin is great player but not the best player ever
by sunil varma on Feb 20, 2011 11:28 AM

There is nothing called greatest player of all times...we cannot compare a Bradman with Sachin or Viv.Richards with Bradman. The games have evolved over the period of time. In the current times even Bradman would not have been able to maintain 99.9 average. They played very few games during Bradman’s times. The Balls were different. They played for a draw not to win a match. They played extremely defensive cricket where are contemporary cricket is exactly opposite. They play a lot of matches with the aim to win a test match. They play at a lot of balls where the text book says you need to defend and show respect to the ball. Cricket has moved from a gentleman’s game to a highly competitive game.

In addition to that the technology that the teams have now give them great insights in to how a player plays, which enable to develop a micro game plans against each player looking at his weakness and strengths. It is much more difficult to perform in a test match in the current times. Looking all the above it is good to say sachin is the greatest player in the current times and might be one of the greatest players of all times.

After repeated incidents like a coach dead in caribean island and with Inzamam coming out of his room last. Than afridi the current captain caught multiple times for ball tempering and he also admitting openly mentioning everybody does it. Latest the great Pak trio getting banned for 5 years and more. ICC should BAN PCB as a member, this is the root cause and this alone can solve the misery named pakistan bringing shame to cricket.

loosing confidence
by Pankaj Mehta on Feb 11, 2011 08:23 PM

performing good in lots of domestic matches give confidence.

But Sachin's one spectacular shot for four or six can break this confidence into pieces.

wait n watch...

golden opportunity
by sundaram chandran on Feb 10, 2011 02:00 PM

this young lad is blessed to get such an opportunity from out of the blue alongwith with Sree of India. Undoubtedly both will be longing to seize the opportunity presented to them. i do have a feeling that both of them will stand-out in this world cup seeing their enthusiasm and approach. They will not only do wonders with the ball, but will give more than 100% in fielding also. The captains of both teams would benefit from utilizing them in all matches. good luck to both of them.

Tendulkar's prize wicket
by anand datar on Feb 10, 2011 01:43 PM  | Hide replies

21 years old Junaid Khan of Pakistan was not even born when Tendulkar started playing Test cricket ! Why does he have the ambition of getting Tendulkar's wicket only ?! Why not any other batsman in the world ?? Not even him but all the bowlers in the world, old and new, have the same ambition ! Why ?! Tendulkar haters, any answer ? You know it but won't agree, just for the sake of hatred ! Come on, he is the best ever batsman the world has seen ! His wicket is the benchmark for all the bowlers in the world !!

Sachin is a great player but not the best player ever. Still Sir Don Bradman is the greatest. He had an average of 99.94 whereas Sachin has only 57 odd. Second best in the Bradman era was Sir Jack hobbs with 60 odd meand 39 runs below him. but in sachin's era Jack kallis has better average than him, ponting and dravid are also very close. I am proud to have that Sachin born in india but the fact is that he is not better than bradman.
