Karnataka's VinayaKumar could be a best replacement to Praveen, since both are similar slow medium pace bowlers. Vinaya Kumar is an intelligent Bowler. Just consider his domestic records and IPL bowling. He did well irrespective of conditions. He only needs team support to excel.

karnataka team won outright more ranji matches (while other teams drawn most matches), during last two seasons which means that the team had best bowling unit capable of taking 20 wickets. VINAYAKUMAR WAS THE LEADER OF THE KARNATAKA's BOWLING UNIT. He did well in the recent duleep trophy matched on batting tracks

even I hate him for his attitude; He is much expensive bowler in ODI; though he might fetch some wickets
In India: Sree (6.46) vs Nehra (6.48) --- almost the same Eco Rate. But Sree is taking more wickets, crucial wickets, fielding better than Nehra and physically more fit. Bowling average is more better than the others. Only not fit for Dhoni!!
When we compare the performance with statistics in Eco Rate we forget tht Sree was playing under Dhoni's eye brow beats and intimidations while Nehra was given a free hand!! Yet, Sree used to take the crucial wickets and change the course of the matches!! For which, I have never seen Dhoni's appreciation for Sree!!
When we compare Nehra with Sree: Sree is fielding smart but Nehra is fielding poor and injury prone!! Sree is a useful tail end batsman capable of giving ample support to the other batsman! Nobody can forget the way Sree playing the Test 2 in SA and bowled agaist Jack Kallis (Bouncer), Ash Prince (Let cutter)!!
