Dirty politics by selectors
by shashikanth raayasa on Feb 05, 2011 11:34 PM  | Hide replies

So many good players like W.V.raman, Robin Singh, Sharath, T.Kumaran, Badrinath, Hemang Badani were not given recognition/chance due to dirty politics by cricket selectors. Robin singh if given more chance would have defiantly overtaken all sachins records. But even at the age of 37 robin singh played like a lion.

Badrinath is probably the only one who can be considered really unlucky considering the extraordinary talent the guy posesses and consistent performance..

Robin Singh and WV Raman got enough chances and they made enough contributions as well..

Its not just dirty politics all the time. There are just too many players.

Injustice to talent..

If

Badrinath and Abhinav Mukund belonged to Delhi or Bangalore

Else if

Badrinath and Abhinav Mukund spoke Hindi or Kannada at home

Then

Badrinath and Abhinav Mukund would be playing in the Indian Test team in place of Rahul Dravid and Gautam Gambhir

Then how Murali Vijay is getting so many chances ?

No disrespect to anyone. But it is very hard to get chance in the Indian team as a batsman. Gambhir has done well in South Africa, so it is not easy to drop him.

This is about cricket, not regions. Get over your parochialism. FYI, I'm "south-indian".

Its not about region you idiot, its about team. So dont try to divide India.
FYI I am from India first then from North.

Because the original poster wasn't cheering the south zone cricket team. He's clearly being jingoistic, if you will, about the south zone team winning. That's the difference. I'm not a moron. :) You're a fool to not see the obvious. Quit the name calling, you degenerate schmuck.

Pragyan Ojha is plays for Hydrabad. Had he been from Orissa he would be representing East Zone. Be polite in wrting mails. What is wrong with Idli sambar.

This is in reply to Siddaraju Boregowda. Not sure why rediff found your message objectionable but I can reply only here. here goes: This is only about cricket. No need for chest-beating regionalism. It diverts attention from the actual subjects - the game and the players. FYI, the south team also has some players of north-indian descent. And while your point about the south as an entity is perfectly valid, it does not concern a south-zone cricket team. As for the trains, again, they've nothing to do with cricket. Except that those very trains probably brought those north-indian players who play in the south now. :) Make no mistake, I'm a proud south-indian too. But I do not condone jingoism. And going by your analogy, south-india is a misnomer. There should only be state teams, no zonal teams. Oh and...I'm from Bangalore. Been here over 20 years. Rest assured I'm free of hindi propaganda, bro. :)
