Re: Dravid the best

Dravid does not have right to tell like this...Last time also, the team combination was good and there were spinning all rounders and gr8 players were there and the condition was also suitable for India...Dravid(captain) was not able to utilise these things... I admit that he was a good batsman, but not a good captain...
This time there is no super 6, and there are many matches in the league stages in current format, which favour strong team. So the real tournament or knockout stage begins from quarter final.
Now 3 quarter final are held outside India, 2 in Sri Lanka, take history out chasing in Sri Lanka under lights is very difficult, most teams lost, so it can be anyone's game
Now in semi final, one is played again in Sri Lanka, even at Premadasa stadium in Sri Lanka, chasing becomes difficult.
How can India be favourite where they will not enjoy home conditions since quarter finals where knock out round begins. Also India don't have good bowling unit like Sri Lanka who has malinga and muralidharan who can be deadly under lights
So I believe this world cup is open for all top teams

Whats the fun in best of three finals?? If that were the case, India would never have won the WC.
Everyone saying India is favourite, Dhoni if you remember... in 1996 world cup in india, we had a very similar format. If you remember, from 1999 to 2007, there was super 6 and super 8... so some good teams got eliminated...
In 1996, we had quarter finalist team. Ind, Eng, SA, West Indies, Pak, Sri Lanka, Aus, NZ... all top 8 teams... this time it would be no different.
So knockout round begins from quarter final where it can be anyones world cup.. dont be overoptimistic. This time world cup is played under lights and chasing in second innings sometime can be risky in lights, so there is no favourite and underdogs... just have to play 3 game well quarter final, semi final and final to win world cup.. it can be anyones worldcup

i am very excited as world cup is being held in india after 15 years. long time. who know when will we get chance in life again. the real knockout stage will begin from quarter final round
chawla, ashwin, nehra are three weak links of current WC team, opponents might get benefitted from these. chawla - not a good spinner, lacks in variation. R.sharma shud have been in the place with allround ability. ashwin - average bowler, yuvraj, shewag, yusuf, raina can also do his job. so R.uthappa shud have been in his place for wicketkeeping, power hitting ability.
nehra - toothless on Non swinging pitch conditions.sreesant wud have been agressive and better.

manish patel and Robin Uttappa would have been kept as reserve batsman
