Although the wall was shattered thrice in this test, he still remains the best indian batsman. None can match his technique & temperament. Period.

Gambhir
by Srivatsan S on Dec 30, 2011 11:17 AM  | Hide replies

Gambhir is the weak link in the current team. Also his attitude to stay at wicket not good and he looks with low confidence. It is better to replace him with Rahne.

If Rahne can shut the door at one end, it will give confidence to viru to score at other end. but gambhir is thinking he is more than to Viru and trying all kind of t20 shots.

Rahane too got enough chances, but could not make use of it properly. Gambir on the other hand is the best left hand batsman in all formats, going through rough patch, need some more time to get his rhytham, it's quite common to all.

Salutations to Dravid
by Jiju on Dec 30, 2011 10:19 AM  | Hide replies

Dravid has been one of the mainstays for Indian Test cricket team, and rightly so! When the so called top cricketers failed, he has always been consistently performing in all sorts of pitches! When selectors tried to use him like a tissue paper in the England series, he gave them a perfect reply refusing to dance to their tunes! He is one person who gives in 100% of his effort, gets result, stays out of any controversies and is an asset to the team. His so called failure in the Melbourne Test 2nd innings showed that his contributions are most necessary for a win!

Dravid is the best batsman in the world for test cricket than any one. Having 5 days in the test it is not require to have good strike rate....

If he is called a wall, has it been banned for him to be "bowled"?
He is the top scorer for India this year. Without his scores, Indian totals would never cross 100!

According to u, which batsman has idea to defend/attack? Applying ur logic, all Indian batsmen were out atleast twice in the match :)

rahul and viru are the pillars for indian victory in test.
but both of them cannot be always good. it is always team efforts.

Bring in some one who can value his wicket, I doubt shewag can handle it. 10 innings with low or no score and one innings of 100, he is there for next series. Not a better prospect. No consistency. Dravid is the most prized wicket as for as opponent.
