New test players required
by mandar borwankar on Dec 30, 2011 12:50 PM

It is strange to know that the Indian selectors are using rotation policy in ODI but they are not using the same policy in test cricket. In test cricket they are bringing only new bowlers and they are promising but how about bringing new batsmen in the side. It should had happened long time back. It will be difficult to include all new batsmen in one go.Sachin, Dravid, Laxman have served the country for long time and because of them we have won many matches against Australia in India as well as in Australia. Hats of to them. But the fact remains that they are on wrong side of 30s and it is science that in sports where reflexes play a major role it becomes low after a certain age.Their mind may be agile but body may not respond accordingly. Selectors have to bring fresh players in the Indian test team otherwise it will be too late when everyone retires. Domestic cricket also needs to be competitive. The pitches should be bouncy and fast and should provide a good contest between bat and ball. As Ian Chappell rightly said in sub continent the ball bounces upto knee level and maximum upto waist level and all cricketers are groomed on those pitches and in countries like Aus, SA, Eng, NZ the ball bounces above knee level and chest level. It is difficult for sub continent batsmen to bat on such pitches because they are not used to such bounce and pace. Yes they do get used to it but it happens too late in the test series. BCCI needs to seriously think about this.

I have no doubt. It'll be a whitewash and Dhoni will lose his Test captaincy.

white wash for sure.. "the little improvement" as promised by MS will be in terms of the margin of defeats.. but having said that he won't lose captaincy. First there is none to replace him in test captaincy. Secondly BCCI will invite Zimbabwe or Bangladesh so that Indian can win some matches and some of our batsmen can score some centuries.. Once agains fans will think team india is the greatest in the world!!! hahahaha..

It seems there is no will to win. Wasim Akram was spot on when he said that the body language of the Indians was negative when they came out on the 4th day morning. They just weren't looking to polish off the tail! Instead they were going thru the motions. Now, when the body language and intention itself are not there to win, please tell me how they are not going to lose 4-0?
